I guess Valve Time obtained some leaked HL2: EP3 concept art from 2008. Their website is down, but I found them also posted here. Obviously the designs will probably be a way different when actual Half-Life 3 is released, but it's interesting to see what direction they were heading.
Half-Life 2: Episode Three
Game » consists of 2 releases.
The cancelled, infamously long-delayed final chapter of the episodic Half-Life 2 saga.
Leaked Concept Art
Fuck you fuck you fuck you.
That art looks awesome and now I'm sad that HL3 doesn't have a release date :(
@Mr_Skeleton: Well the Borealis is supposed to be somewhere that's snowy so maybe it's in Russia somewhere?

Or in Canada, you might never know.
He was asking where they look Soviet so I was giving a plausible reason. :-)
@Zacagawea: Idiot. lol This is actual, confirmed art, but yours is very nice too.
If they are real then it makes sense that Valve isn't making Half Life 2: Episode 3 (or Half Life 3) because they look awful. They look very fake actually.
@TrueEnglishGent: I'm not sure why you think that. The concept art looks great, is similar to other concept art created for many Valve games, and they are making Half-Life 3. Have you seen much concept art for games and more specifically concept art for Half-Life games? It fits right in and has been confirmed to be real concept art from 2008 when they first started working on it.

I think it's funny people still think this exists
I'm not exactly sure why you think it doesn't exist... Valve has been and continues to work on Half-Life 3 on and off. It's just about when they want to announce/release it.
Isn't it just getting a little sad that people scrounge for HL3 information now? If Valve is going to release the game, they will release. I don't see why every nerd has to stare at the data-stream looking for every little change towards the making of the game.
Then I remembered: Videogames.

It's not that strange when you consider that many of us have been waiting forever and know it's coming eventually. Any little tidbits of information will at least distract us while we wait. :-)

Since when are there soviets in the HL universe.
Yeah, but on the plus side ushankas are awesome...at least I think that's an ushanka.

Is that suppose to be a cut? Yeah, I'm a nerd. However, I don't understand the reason behind anyone being this fanatical about a game (and we all know the HL fans are fanatical). You can try to sound witty, but all I saw was a line of text submitted by someone who couldn't come up with something better.

I found some leaked logo art, take a peek

To be honest, i find it funny (like absolutely hilarious) that people are still expecting episode 3 to come out. its been 5 years since episode 2 came out and IF valve ever decides to continue the half-life franchise i would expect them just to make Half-Life 3.
Duke nukem forever came out, your argument is invalid.

and if i remember correctly, duke nukem was an amazing heap of crap. i highly doubt valve would do that episode 3 (put out a really shitty game just so that theyll get it out after a bazillion years of development), but do you really want to take that chance?

Oh, could have sworn your whole point was "It's been this long in development, of course it won't release." In which Duke nukem forever null and voids that statement.

It sounds like you're a little unfamiliar with the Valve Creative Process™.
If you didn't know, TF2 started out as a game of humans versus aliens with RTS-style resource management and building upgrades. They kind of have a habit for making shit, throwing it away and starting over.
Edit: Also, Meet the Pyro just came out after four five years. Soooo...
Edit 2, P.S.: Most of the community has kind of agreed on the, "It's just going to be Half-Life 3" thing already.

To be honest, I find it funny (like absolutely hilarious) that you think it's an "IF" chance and not a certainty.
