This game looks good but I doubt I'll ever play, looks A-Ok though. Probably go round to yours one day and watch it, does it continue the half life story at all?

Ok this will be awesome, and probably mod of the year, but i highly doubt it will beat a AAA title with millions invested...

I dont see why they are doing new voice acting, except for the fact that the first Half Life sound files for voices is so crappy by todays standards.  I mean legal issues cant really be a concern considering that mods use Valves stuff all the time.  If they were concerned about the voices being a legal issue, then why make the mod at all?  Map layouts and the story itself are copyright by Valve so they would have legal issues with the whole thing.
This looks amazing and I hope you can kills the scientists and guards like in the first and dismember them yourself with explosives and good ol' red. (crowbar)  Thats what annoyed me the most about half life 2, it just took away that charm.

So Half life gets a remake, but many classics from the SNES/Genesis era get snubbed.

I'd like to see what Black Mesa has done to Xen and the Nihilanth :) but so far this mod looks soooo good.

Plus, this is a fan-made mod for the most part. No one at Valve decided to help these guys out or give them the go ahead to do this. The fans just decided to do this after they played Half-Life: Source *which wasn't that much of a leap* But I do remember the awesome Chrono Resurrection Chrono Trigger remake that some fans were making. Until Square decided to stop it in its tracks. And now give us the DS PORT of the game instead. Awesome. /sarcasm

But I do agree with you, someone/some group has to remake those games. Keep it under wraps until it's done and release it into the wild before the big companies decide to shut it down. That's what the CR team should've done anyway. That thing would've spread like wildfire across the net. *sigh* Very sad.

I'm pretty excited for this, so many fond memories on the original Half-Life
