Today marks the 5th year anniversary since the release of Half Life 2 one of my favorite games ever made and I was wondering if anyone had any good memories of the  game to share in honor of its release!

I would have to say the thing I remember the most was jumping out of the window after talking to Barney for the first time and just fucking around with a metal barrel with some bottles on top of it and a little plastic crate for about 45 minutes just because physics were such a cool new thing.

EDIT: Doubleshock had a good Idea put your Best AND Worst memories of the game might as well be constructive!

Man, the world was a slightly less shitty place back when Half-Life 2 was first released... those were the days...

My best memory is of course the level with the super charged gravity gun.  Also the zombie levels are clever.

My worst memory is in the first level when that guard told me to pick up that can.

Half-Life 2 is one of my favorite games, hard to believe that it's been so long.

That game was amazing when it came out. It was hard to believe that there actually *was* a Half-Life 2, and I was playing it. Now, I can say the same thing about HL2: EP3 (minus the "playing" part).

    Meeting Barney again: mind=blown!

@AndrewB: About that beer I owe ya

Did that not not just strike the perfect cord for everyone who played the Hell out of the original?
