Im stuck

I got the complete half life collection on steam and wanted to play it in order, but now im stuck. I got to the part in the first game where you connect this generator thing in a missile silo, with a giant pool of green slime at the bottom. The generator has power, but i have no clue where to go from there.

Ya only got it this morning, according to that guide im less then a quarter of the way through, oh well, im enjoying Half Life 2 deathmatch, so im not putting much effort into the actual games.
