Eww.

Looks like South Park to me. And strangely compelling.

#7 Posted by T_Wah (16 posts) -

Missed opportunity for making the trailer 30 seconds as well.

WTF is a Japanese developed PSP game doing coming exclusively to the 360 instead of the PS3 =/

Also, this automatic moving to the next video is a pain in the ass when you're trying to write a comment...

Will there be a Bayonetta cameo?

#12 Posted by Cypher (114 posts) -

Where did the chunky sprites go!? What the hell is this crap?!

#13 Edited by WulfBane (191 posts) -

The PSP version had some TOUGH AS HELL levels for some of the challenge titles and opening up some of the branching paths. Especially the very last game mode (which I did finish) I don't know if I could put myself through that all again.

Cannot wait. between this and Metal Gear Solid Peacewalker being ported over I'm getting most of my PSP wishlist without ever touching a PSP. Keep it up!

#15 Posted by Generiko (445 posts) -

Why wasn't the English trailer posted?

#16 Posted by CrashTanuki (290 posts) -

It sucks that they homogenized the hell out of this game for XBLA. If you didn't know, the original on PSP had four distinct gameplay styles centered around the 30 second theme for each of the four main characters and this versions uses just the Knight-style gameplay for everything, which removes a lot of the charm and uniqueness from one of the most unique RPGs of the past ten years.

Yeah I'm a big fan of Half Minute Hero, but the art style on this is not terribly appealing... Oh well, I'll still get it.

#18 Posted by Vexxan (4620 posts) -

Oooh this looks promising.

#19 Posted by Mechanized (324 posts) -

Er... why the fuck is this XBLA exclusive? Why don't you want my money? Fuck you.

@LoktarOgar: Maybe you should turn it off then, you dumb jerk.

8-bit mode is still an option in the game if you prefer the original graphical style.

I hope to hell this will work next time I'm on a date; "What are you complaining about, baby, don't you know all super mega neo climaxes only need 30 seconds?"

Or "Hey, baby, did you know I can upgrade my sword twice and bring it back to it's original shape inside of 30 seconds?"

God damn it, too much Shadows of the Damned..

This. This version looks horrible. Now I'm wondering if I should finish my LP of the original...

I hope that they have some of the other modes that were in the original

Dark Lord 30 was pretty fun.

I fell the same way as LoktarOgar. Anyway you can shed some light on the situation since you seem to come of as the king of the world?

Really does. Wish they had made 16bit looking sprites instead.

I apologise on behalf of the other people being mean.  I don't think the option to turn it off was in the redesign from the very start anyway and it was something I asked to be changed since yes it's annoying by default.

The button you're both looking for is marked 'Auto' just to the right of the video within the 'Playing next' video box.

No, that's video game king. Now what I think, think, he meant was that you can disable the autoplay feature. I don't know how you do that, I have not looked, but it's there. Maybe.

Edit: As a matter of fact, the button is right there. Thank you @RagingLion.

really disliking the art style..oh well I already got my fix of this game on the PSP

#37 Posted by Elliotpage (18 posts) -

Not a fan of the art, really, but Half-minute hero was AMAZING so I'm hella getting this

#38 Posted by RJPelonia (863 posts) -

Terrific PSP game.

Don't really know how I'm feeling about the new art for it though........

#39 Posted by Binarynova (150 posts) -

Only the Hero gametype? That's a bummer! There's much more to Half Minute Hero than that mode. And only on XBLA? Oh well, I'll stick with my PSP copy.

Oh Japan your so crazy I can't help but to love you.

It's already been confirmed that this will have all the same game types as the PSP version, not just the hero type. Also, the new art style is optional. I beat 30 second hero on PSP and I'll get this game the day it gets released.

This trailer lasted longer than a couple of the missions in Half Minute Hero.

I meant I wish they had upgraded the old style instead of replacing it completely.

You're the jerk, why are you insulting others? If he doesn't like it to be default then that's his own taste and opinion.

#47 Posted by D_W (1163 posts) -

God Damnmit how come they won't release this one a system that I own? Bah!

#48 Edited by CrashTanuki (290 posts) -
@Vlaphor: They have all of the eras, but they've completely changed the gameplay style to be just like Hero 30.

http://www.mmv.co.jp/special/game/xbla/half-minute-hero/i_en.html

From the official site:
"Other games modes that follows the battles of the Hero30 mode are rebuilt into RPG style in Super Mega Neo Climax."

Check out the screenshots to confirm that, as you'll see that they've sterilized an amazingly unique RPG for no reason. Half-Minute Hero as it was released on the PSP would've worked perfectly as is on XBLA with new content.

Actually it's 16-bit, but that's great news. My first thought upon watching the trailer was that the new art style looked a bit weird and sort of diminished the charm of the game. I loved the first one, so I might have to pick this up. Then again, if it's just a port of the original with a couple extras features, it might not be enough for me.
