    Takes me back.

Halo 3 ODST takes us back to the feel of halo 1. This is based on the fact that we are in a new location and setting. We have seen the city in Halo 2 but the city is given a new look that adds a new color and sheen to the city. There are two looks to the game that give you two different types of gameplay. The dark foreboding feel of night with red lights guiding you. With the gameplay of stealth and being on your own.  A bright vivid light that will set you with other soldiers in bigger open battles in open spaces and narrow corridors.

This game is set up like a Mystery you go and find clues to what happen since the hours you were nocked out. By finding clues to what your team mates have been up too. The levels are flash backs and are still different from one another; since it use the halo 30 sec of fun rule.  So there are some vehicle sections and on foot parts. There are lead ups to what the game calls firefights. The day levels use these to move along objectives. So each level has you moving on paths in the city that lead to these big set pieces. They also use this in ODST's new online mode called firefight. Which you fight endless waves of enemies. The waves are random there are 5 waves to each round and 5 rounds to every set. Each round gets a new skull turned on. Skulls are what halo use to amp up the difficulty and are used as multipliers to improve your score. This mode can be played with up to 4 people. The thing that sorta holds this mode back is the fact of no matchmaking. So you have to make your own games with your friends list.

They also added on the 2nd disc is the online modes of halo 3. So it comes with every halo 3 map and 3 new maps. This is a great deal if you have never owned halo 3 or have not gotten all the DLC for the game. It might be meaningless if you have halo 3 and bought all the DLC. It may just be for ease of use based on the fact you it comes in the same case. So this end my review I would give halo 3 ODST 4 starts out of 5. Based on the fact the campaign is short but sweet and the added value of the new and old modes.

Right off the bat, let's get one thing straight here. Halo 3: ODST is a Halo game-- more specifically, Halo 3 with some slight tweaks. The core gameplay is all still here, just as strong as it's always been. If you've never been a fan of Halo's style of gameplay however, ODST is not going to change your mind. Some periphery elements have been changed, but at the core there is little different in ODST that will attract new players. That fact might seem elementary, but it's important to remember;...

Sometimes low expectations are a really good thing.. 0

I´ve played through all of the Halo games at least once and I enjoy them as shooters. But I´m not a huge fan of the universe and I don´t think I´ve played the multiplayer even once. I´ve always managed to get caught up in the hype machine for each game but this time I was kind of unaffected by it. I still decided to pick ODST up and boy did I benefit from my low expectations. I went in expecting an ok expansion for Halo 3 but before the campaign was over I ended up feeling like this is my favori...
