Halo 3 is a solid FPS game the smoothly wraps up the Halo series

Halo 3 like it's predecessor Halo 2 is the highly anticipated First Person Shooter made by Bungie. It skillfully wraps up the Halo series by tying up any loose ends and not leaving us in the same place where we began like Halo 2's campaign did. Find out how it stacks up in my review below.

Gameplay: The Gameplay in Halo 3 is the same as it's predecessors and is as satisfying as ever with a couple new additions to the weapon roster such as the Spartan Laser and returning Assault Rifle. This time around though, the creators of the game decided to add in some special power up things kind of which basicall y help you out and effect other players in some way or another. For example the Bubble Shield is basically this deployab

le spherically shaped shield that you throw on the ground and bullets, rockets, grenades, etc... cannot enter inside, but you can freely. This can be very interesting in the Multiplayer, but doesn't play a huge role in the Campaign. Some new vehicles have also been added into the mix such as the Hornet which is the human equivalent to the Covenant Banshee and another new vehicles is the Brute Chopper which is useful for ramming enemies with. Overall Halo 3 reinserts the old Halo mechanic that surprisingly has aged quite well and does not feel dated one bit.

A.I: The enemy A.I in Halo 3 is great just like it's always been throughout the whole series and enemies still provide a worthy challenge. Unfortunately your teammates are just as useless as they've always been throughout the series as well, especially when they're behind the wheel.

Story: The Story in Halo 3 I have to say is much better and more refined then Halo 2's. I enjoyed this campaign more then I did Halo 2's mainly because a lot of the problems in Halo 2's story have been fixed. The ending is sati sfying and there are really no loose ends left over in the end making the overall experience more riveting. The campa ig n is almost as good as Halo: Combat Evolved and it really is pleasing to have a good Story arch to follow this time a round. A basic of overview of the story would be that the Master Chief has made his way back to earth and now has to destroy the covenant once and for all and finish the fight while finding Cortana in the process of things. I'm not going to give too much away because it would obviously ruin the game for you if I did. Be assured the story is quite good; better then Halo 2's; not as good as Halo: Combat Evolved.

Graphics: The graphics in Halo 3 looks great, but do not push the Xbox 360 like it predecessors did to the original xbox and to some this may seem a disappointment. Nevertheless the game looks fantastic and boasts some great lighting effects and textures, although the humans in the game look even more ugly and strange then they did in Halo 2 which is quite surprising since people complained about that in the second game, you'd think they'd fix that along with the A.I, but they didn't. It isn't a huge problem, but still it kind of mars the graphics in a  way.

Sound: The sound in the game overpowers the graphics and the game features a great original soundtrack including songs hear from previous game as well which help escalate the action. All the weapons sound good and the voice acting is decent in some parts and great in others. Overall the game has great sound.

One of the best for the Xbox 360 0

I'll focus on several aspects in my review which I feel are important in any game, So let's begin. The Story. Continuing on from the end of Halo 2, which was very much disappointing, Master Chief had just arrived back at Earth to 'Finish the Fight', we see his ship crash into Earth's atmosphere and down in the jungle. You then find out that the Covenant have been excavating a huge hole in a part of the earth near New Mombasa. They've uncovered a huge Forerunner device, The Ark. This Ark is the...

Finishing the fight lives up to the hype, and then some. 0

Halo 3 is one of the most eagerly anticipated games ever made. The first Halo was a landmark achievement in not just first person shooter, but in gaming as a whole. It had incredible visuals, a great story accompanied by great music and voice work and absolutely perfect shooter gameplay. With so many gameplay innovations; such as the rebounding health meter and the limited weapon carrying it was probably the best console shooter since Goldeneye and probably the best console shooter, along with i...
