Bullet Point Review: Halo 3 (XB360)
What I liked:
Graphics - I'm playing on a SDTV, and I still think this game is gorgeous. I can only imagine it on an HD set.
New Stuff - The addition of things like the Brute Chopper, Flamethrower, the Mongoose, etc, in the single player campaign, just adds such so much fun to a series that was already filled to the brim with goodness to begin with.
Theatre - For those that don't know, Theatre mode allows you to save gameplay footage and go back and re-watch it, pause it, snap sceenshots, etc from whatever angle or perspective you want. I love it.
Slowdown - If there was slowdown in this game, I certainly didn't notice it... and that includes some of the huge Scaarb battles too.
A.I. - I'm not much for online co-op, and as such I played Halo 3 all be myself. Thankfully the A.I., both in my fellow marines and in my enemies, is top notch.
Outdoors - My favorite place to be in FPS's, in outside, and in Halo 3 the outdoor enviornments are jaw-droppingly beautiful.
What I didn't like:
Length - When games are this good, I don't want them to end. And as such I found Halo 3 to be just a tad too short.
Cutscenes - My only gripe with the cutscenes in this game, is sometimes the music is so loud you can't always hear what people are saying.
IMO, there's not much wrong with Halo 3. It's an amazing game. Having cancelled XBLive, I didn't get a chance to go online and try out the multiplayer options like Forge, online co-op, etc. But if the online stuff is even half as good as it was in Halo 2...well you're in for a treat.
Overall I'd give Halo 3 a 5 out of 5.
