One of the best for the Xbox 360 0

I'll focus on several aspects in my review which I feel are important in any game, So let's begin. The Story. Continuing on from the end of Halo 2, which was very much disappointing, Master Chief had just arrived back at Earth to 'Finish the Fight', we see his ship crash into Earth's atmosphere and down in the jungle. You then find out that the Covenant have been excavating a huge hole in a part of the earth near New Mombasa. They've uncovered a huge Forerunner device, The Ark. This Ark is the...

    Finish the fight!! 0

Whether you be a hardcore gamer or a casual once a week gamer the halo series has become a household name and has enjoyed great success over the years since Halo: Combat Evolved launched with the original Xbox. The third and final instalment of this epic trilogy continues from the cliff hanger left at the end of Halo 2 and after years of waiting you finally get to Finish The Fight but does it live up to the hype?Just as the previous two the third and final instalment consists of the same addictiv...

Finishing the fight lives up to the hype, and then some. 0

Halo 3 is one of the most eagerly anticipated games ever made. The first Halo was a landmark achievement in not just first person shooter, but in gaming as a whole. It had incredible visuals, a great story accompanied by great music and voice work and absolutely perfect shooter gameplay. With so many gameplay innovations; such as the rebounding health meter and the limited weapon carrying it was probably the best console shooter since Goldeneye and probably the best console shooter, along with i...

    Halo 3: Combat Perfected 0

I was one of the few people who was not expecting to like this game. Much to my delight, however, Bungie has more than sold it to me. Halo 3 is one of the finest fps games ever. Which is not a big shock since Halo: Combat Evolved is one of the best games ever. So what makes Halo 3 so great, and for that matter what makes the franchise so great. The answer is simple, fundamentals. These are made up of controls, AI, level design, pacing and balance. All of which Halo 1 and 2, b...

    It's a good game. 0

I won't say Halo 3 is perfect, but it is a good game. The single player campaign is a little short (8-12 hours), but it's fun and entertaining; it becomes ten times better if you're playing co-op with three friends. As you would expect from a Halo, the Multiplayer is a lot of fun. There's a lot of customization with both the game modes and maps (thanks to the forge map editor), which makes custom games a blast with friends. Match Making is also a lot of fun if you don't mind playing with people ...

A Fine End to the Halo Trilogy 1

What is Halo? Better yet, what makes Halo? When you think of Halo, you think of something huge. It's what put the Xbox on the market. It's an entertainment phenomenon. It's a highly addictive and fun game. It's the most played game on Xbox Live. Halo is a masterpiece. The Story: The Story of Halo has always been a good one, and though some seemed disappointed in the last installment, the addition of terminals really seems to make a long-lasting impression on you. We'll get back to these later,...

ProsForge editor is fantastic, adds much replay value. The theater is also another great new feature, very well done. Good customization for characters online. Most of the single player is a blast and the co-op is excellent. ConsCampaign could be much longer. Graphics are slightly disappointing PresentationMenus look great. Very well presented cut scenes and ending to the game. Online matchmaking is fantastic.5/5GraphicsGreat in some areas, mediocre in others. Overall the graphics aren't out...

    Great online experience. 0

Halo 3 is a great game. Well, most of it. The campaign leaves much to be desired, although its story is fairly interesting. Its over almost before it has begun. What makes Halo a great game is the multiplayer. Unlike other good first person shooters, you can have someone playing online next to you with up to fourteen other people, which adds a lot to the overall fun. Also its very versatile with many game types and customizable options and maps using Forge. Bungie helps alot with the online expe...

One of the most balanced FPS with an extensive ammount of content 0

Halo 3 is, in a word, excellent. Bungie's efforts are clear as every element of this game shines. The campaign is excellent, the multiplayer maps are excellent, the weapons are excellent, you get the idea. It is hard to criticize, but there are some elements that keep Halo 3 from being perfect, but it mostly from the community of players and not from the game itself. The campaign mode is compelling. Despite some people's complaints it is actually quite long. On solo the difficulty scales really w...

Brilliant - Master Chief back with a bang! 0

Was unsure of what to expect with this game as I loved Halo then Halo 2 sort disappointed me slightly especially with the ending so when I bought this it was wih a sense of foreboding. Then I played it - AMAZING!!! It instantly picked up where Halo 2 left off except with improved graphics (I mean seriously improves) and larger levels with a greater variety of weapons. I quickly completed the campaign on Normal to finish the story but without being challenged too much. The story was brilliant an...

Too derivative for a "masterpiece" but still a damn fine game 0

When Halo 3 was released in September of 2007, it was instantly met with a flood of praise. Reading the initial reviews, one would expect the game to be the absolute pinnacle of what a first-person shooter could accomplish, which unfortunately inflates the game to a level that is impossible for it to live up to. However, evaluating the game solely on its own merits, without the flashy soundbites offered by innumerable gaming websites and magazines, it's still a fantastic game; certainly not the ...

Halo 3 only dissapoints for part of the game. 0

Well, I loved Halo: Combat Evloved and hated Halo 2. So I wasn't really expecting much from Halo 3, but it turned out to be a great game but it has its far share of problems and in my opinion this game isn't even close to deserving a perfect score. When you first start up Halo 3 you should start off playing the Single-Player, for it has changed a great deal sense Halo 2. One of the changes include actually playing as the Master Cheif for 100% of the campagin this time around. The story takes plac...

When your core is a solid as this is you don't need much else to entertain. 0

I really wanted to be on par with the story of Halo before venturing into the third installment of the series, but it seems I’ll never be able to catch up so I decided to go ahead and play the game that has been sitting on my shelf for years now. I generally don’t expect much from action games in terms of story but I had noticed that a lot of people hold it in high regards, I tried my best to engage.I must admit that not being able to follow the story from the first two games jeopard...

Halo 3 is an excellent first person shooter 0

Halo 3 is one of those games people love to hate. It's up there in the league of World of Warcraft and Grand Theft Auto where it's considered to be somewhat trendy to express your hate of the game whether you even played it or not. I admit that as a hardcore PC gamer for a long time I hated my fair share on Halo despite being a huge fan of the original when it made its debut on the PC platform all those years back. I have to say one thing though, Halo 3 is simple fun and to put it simply this ga...

    A fitting end 0

There are a lot of things that make Halo 3 stand out from other shooters, in addition to a great single player campaign you have the option of four player co-op, a deep and enjoyable multiplayer experience, the ability to create video clips of past games (single player and multiplayer), and a level editor. The graphics look stunning and colorful (a rare trait for current gen shooters), and the sound is on par with the overall presentation. It may take a while to notice what makes this game look d...

OK. Halo 2 was fantastic. its was the best shooter at that time. But theres another first person shotter that is the best ever created halo 3. Its and outsanding pakacge that is sure to satisfy as you play along the multiplayer amd the campaign. I forgot but the multiplayer is super awsome the multiplayer is a dream on a cd. Now you can leave the Halo 2 disc in box and move on the real masterpiece. Halo 3 is bit similar to Halo 2 but it contains features that noone thought of. Now lets go to the...

    Bungie does it again 0

I was very critical about halo 3 after the gameplay trailers. I thought that this would be a weak finish that would copy the foundation of halo 2. I was wrong. This game completely removes itself from the other iterations of the series. Halo 3 of course begins where halo 2 left off. Fighting your way through the remainder of covenant forces (minus the rebelling elites) you come across some of the most memorable sequences of gameplay that has ever existed. The musical score does change somewhat,...

The reason I bought an xbox 360 was for Halo 3. The Best multiplayer, The Best story, The Best score, and an excellent campaign and some stunning graphics. The familiar score of the Halo series is played as the menu screen appears, the first thing you do is click on the solo campaign and finish the fight! After you have finished the fight, which will include the best array of weapons and vehicles yet, some stunning environments and some unfortunate character graphics, also the new deployables and...

    Shining Example. 0

Halo 3 was, is and will always be one of my favorite games for a long time. It is a great sequel to the end of the trilogy and is one of the many great games of 2007. It stands as a shining example of how FPS should work on a console and even on a PC.The campaign is great with many memorable moments. Every time you find yourself blowing up a Scarab or beating a horde of Covenant you feel like cheering for your victory until you realize that was just the scout party. The plot is fulfilling with r...

A Greating ending to the trilogy! 0

After the Second halo ended with such a cliff hanger and no so much a great ending people were wondering if the 3rd Halo would make the ending work. And guess what? It did. Halo 3 had a great Campaign and gives you many difficulties to choose from, from the kids that aren't that good at FPS' to the Halo Freaks that want the most difficult missions to deal with.  But in my option what makes this game a 5 is the multiplayer. It is the easiest to just pick a play list and just start. Also it is eas...

I owned a gamecube during the initial Halo buzz and was constantly jealous of the love my friends had for the franchise. As soon as I got my 360 I bought the first 2 games and was instantly hooked. After much anticipation Halo 3 has arrived with the tagline finish the fight which it does and with brilliant results.Halo 3 picks up straight after Halo 2's dissappointing ending with MasterChief face down in the ground of a lush jungle.          When a video game manages to make a history making 170 million dollars in sales within the first 24 hours of its launch, there isn’t much of a point in telling you that you should buy the game. You probably have it. For that reason, this is one of the rare cases when a review means absolutely nothing. That’s right. A review doesn’t matter. So if you’re actually still reading this, then you’re ready to hear some truth about the Halo franchise, and Halo 3. It’s time to let the after-launch hy...

Halo 3 builds upon the concepts of Halo 2 in ways that you'd expect, but there are also new modes and options that send.Regardless of how you felt about its cliffhanger ending, there's no denying that Halo 2 was a gigantic success that raised the bar for what we, as a game-playing society, expect out of a good console-based first-person shooter. In the years that followed, plenty of games attempted to duplicate the Halo formula, with varying degrees of success. But there's still nothing quite li...

Halo was a landmark Xbox game. It was fun and played well for a console FPS. But it wasn't perfect -- and Halo 3 keeps many of those imperfections alive and well.Halo 3 continues the series staple of having a terrible story, and taking it far too seriously. Thankfully the story this time dispenses with most of the boring look into Covenant politics and religion that bogged down Halo 2. Sadly, it doesn't rid itself of many of the other legacy sins from past Halo games. On several occasions, the g...

A good experience that is sure to entertain, but it's not without its blights. 0

From a 2014 point of view, how does Halo 3 fare in the mind of this humble gamer? From a so-so Campaign, a deeply entertaining Multiplayer mode, a decent Forge mode, and the ability to save videos of gameplay in Films, Halo 3 is still an enjoyable experience, even by today's standards.Halo 3 picks up near where the previous game ended, and it doesn't take long to get into the game. The tutorial is brief, and you are into the action faster than you can shout "sticky grenade." The story starts wit...

    Halo 3 isn't great, it's just good. Solid. 0

When I was originally wanted an Xbox 360, it was unquestionable that Halo 3 would be the one of the games that I will first get. Unfortunately with a limited budget I made a plan to get the most out of my lousy dollars; I bought another game and burrowed Halo 3 from a friend. His console died during a long towel trick session despite the fact it was under supervision by his older brother.Moving along, I got hold of the game and made a dash for my console with a cheerful smile. Popped it into the...

Bungie is not the studio it was 5 years ago. 0

If Halo 1 was the New Hope of the series, Halo 3 is comparable to the prequel trilogy. Halo 3 had promise, taking every single thing that made Halo 1 and 2 good, and putting it into a blender, the problem was that the mix was just the same thing as the first two games. There was nothing different about this game, and yes, you can argue that armor mods are totally new concepts, and that the new weapons make it a great game, but in the end, what does it really amount to? Sure, forge mode is ok, mu...

Plus, with the addition of making your own game modes, and collaborating them with your very own Forged maps, you can create your very own (mini)games. Not being a Halo fan and having not played the previous installments, I bought Halo 3 due to it being touted as "best thing since sliced bread" and the fact that it has been given high scoring reviews by the critics. I don't really see the justification for all the praise and adulation showered upon this game. I see Halo 3 as a fun and simple shooter with a good amount of modes and options to extend the lifespan of its simple gameplay. It's not revolutionary, the story isn't that great, but it's...

Perhaps Microsoft is paying people off, probably.I would recomend FEAR. Halflife. Far Cry. And Crysis over this. For multiplayer it is very old but Quake 3 is still very awsome. This new installment in the Halo 3 game, The Mythic Map Pack, was released a while back now so i don't think anybody will read this but for anybody that reads this i want to warm them that this DLC is not worth the buy. Unless you are a huge fan of Forging maps to play Custom Games, which makes Sandbox your kind of map, than there is nothing worth spending money on because all of these maps are horrible for multi-player because they are small and not very creative maps. Halo 3: Excellence abound. 0

SingleplayerHalo 3's campaign is very short. Unacceptably short on easy, but acceptable on heroic+. But that's not to say it is bad. The campaign is ridiculously streamlined from start to finish, with an unprecedented level of polish rarely seen. Graphically it is superb, but not amazing. By no means amazing. Havok physics are incredible, and the bloom/HDR effects look great, but the textures and models don't compete with games like Gears and COD4.4 player co-op is amazing, and tons of fun. Forg...

Halo: still pretty good. The third installment continues the series tradition of good shooting, incremental gameplay improvements, and an interesting story for a shooter. Unfortunately, it also keeps alive some of its faults, like some repetitive tasks and environments, minor steps backward in some areas and the continued inclusion of the highly uninteresting Flood. I get the desire to mix things up so you're not fighting Covenant the whole time, but seriously, the Flood is boring. I like the st...

Halo 3 can be described as a game thats feels half done. If halo 3 were to be compared to any modern shooter it could be easily identified as an over hyped failure. Halo 3 has a great story but can be seen as a failure as it does not give a sense of completion. The multi player is decent when played with friends but when played over xbox live you cannot get far without a 9 year old thrash talker screaming in your ear.
