Poll: Would you buy Halo 4 if it wasn't made by Bungie?

  • Probably. Halo 4 will be great no matter who make it.
  • Not likely. Halo 4 must be made by Bungie and no one else.

No, but I did buy Call of Duty 5 even though it wasn't made by Infinity Ward.

Halo is as generic as any other space marines shooter out there. it just happens to have a huge following.

i doubt i would play it at all.

Neither IMO.  Bungie is a talented group of people and I would like to see them do something that isn't halo related. (Doesn't look like that's gonna happen anytime soon though.)

I'm pretty sure I would buy it depending if it looks good or not, not just by developer name. Except if it's a developer I know can't make good games, or just naturally dislike their approach. Lastly, how can there be a Halo 4? Aren't all the Halos nullified and the Covenant and Humans at peace?

Probably, because to me, Halo 3 just felt wrong...so a fresh developer might liven the series back up for me.

I will be reluctant to buy a Halo game NOT made by Bungie. Bungie is a kick ass developer, one of the few console developers that gets involved with their community and their own games. They listen to the fans and always are on the ball when a new glitch or exploit pops up in a game, and fixes it. So unless the team that makes a Halo 4 is composed of  X-Bungie members and tries to do what Bungie does with its community, I will be relucant to buy it.

So, would I buy Halo 4 if it was made by a developer NOT Bungie? Well, it all depends on if it is good or not. This far down the line, I don't know if any developer that is NOT Bungie can properly execute the Halo style, but Halo 3 was a bit stale so a new developer may be needed for innovation.

Yes but there isn't going to be a Halo 4 as it's a trilogy.

Halo is not generic, I fail to see other space marine shooter in which the aliens were Religiously motivated to almost destroy every form of life in space to have salvation, and then only to find out that it is lies, and rebel against the religious leaders. One of the morals learned from Halo's story is that Religion is a dangerous weapon.

Yeah, just add one tiny aspect and it makes it completely different....

One tiny aspect? you mean the story?

Because story is just a 'tiny' bit of a game isnt it...

I was reading that MS are building their own internal Halo group and are in the process of hiring people. I think Halo 4 will not be made by Bungie but they will have some sort  of input. If they treat the source material with respect I feel they might come up with a good story for Halo 4.  MS are well known for being pushy with third party developers so I they probebly get even more pushier with development studios they own. Will halo 4 be made?, YES. Will Bungie make it?, Probably not.  I have a feeling that MS wants to turn Halo into their own CoD, by which I mean they will have some sort of  a halo game every year or two. What I can tell for sure is tht we are going to be saturated with Halo for the next 3 years. My prediction is that Halo 4 will be out by the end of 2011 or the beginning of 2012,

Halo 3: ODST - Semtember 22 2009
Halo: Reach - Fall 2010
Halo 4 - Fall 2011

Halo to me is synonymous with Bungie.  Therefore I would not buy a Halo game if it was not made by Bungie.

Kind of a stupid poll. I would certainly *consider* buying it, but only if I knew anything about it. Specifically, how good of a game it was. It wouldn't be a certain buy, as no game is, with me. I didn't buy Halo 2 blindly, nor Halo 3.

I would hope its not made by Bungie; If i play one more halo campaign where half the levels involve me backtracking through terrain and buildings I've already been through, I'll puke. The series needs a fresh studio to put a new take on the series.

I want to feel as powerful as a Spartan in that series should. I want realistic gravity when I jump (no floating like im on the damn moon), speaking of which if I'm a super soldier I should be able to jump higher (even if the suit weighs a ton). Close combat should involve more than just a butt to the head with my gun. I wanna unload a clip of ammo at my enemy, then throw the empty gun at a brute so hard it gives him a concussion!

Despite what I just said I'm a moderate halo fan, bought 2 and 3 on day 1 of release and enjoyed them greatly; but I want something newer and better.

@Plasma: I stating that the game is barely different than the other space marine/alien games. Just adding some religious aspect to it doesn't exactly make it different than the 100s of other ones. It's more of a cop out. And yes, I have played this game as well as 100 of others that share the niche. You have to think about it, if Halo wasn't one of the launch titles for the original Xbox who it actually have sold as much as it did?

@Einherjan: imo, The Halo Franchise is what kept the original xbox afloat and single handedly kept it from being a total loss. I also think that without the Halo franchise there would have not been an xbox 360.

@Mordukai: Yeah, so? Still you have to think about it. It was a launch title. Maybe it was the only reason the two consoles kept a float. Theoretically, if there was a different launch titles for the two, I don't think it would've sold as well. Launch a system with a GTA game and I think it would've sold more copies. GTA4 sold more in it's first week and overall copies.

This is a fucking stupid question. Who cares?

Did you like Halo 1/2/3?

If so, chances are you'd like Halo 4.
