@Einherjan: You are aware that Halo redefined shooters with it's health system, correct? Including the Call of Duty franchise? So if you want to get technical about it, every shooter out there is now like Halo, rather than Halo not being any different than other shooters. Aside from that, the Halo universe goes far beyond the games should one choose to delve in to it. The environments and the characters were unique in my opinion. I just don't seem to recall any other game with the setting being on a giant space ring.

I'd buy any game made by anybody as long as it's good.
It's kind of a dumb question, why would I not buy a good Halo game just because Bungie didn't make it? I better question would be, "would you buy a crappy Halo game if Bungie made it?" My answer would be no, because I'm not going to play a crappy game.

This is more a question for people that are already fans of the franchise. I've never liked Halo, and unless it was a major departure from the other games, I don't think it would matter who made Halo 4 for me. In that case, I think there would be a better chance of me buying Halo if it was made by someone else. That said, they would probably be forced to follow the same formula, so, either way, I don't think Halo will be the game for me. However, there will be millions of people that who will disagree with me at the inevitable Halo 4 launch day--regardless of the eventual developer.
