So I have a stack of recent games sitting by my Xbox including Forza Horizon, X-Com and WWE 13. All games I was enjoying yet halo came along last week and god damn is it good. I've not ever been this into a halo title. Last night I dinged level 50 and was able t on my new specialization. Its been literally all I've been playing. I tried putting in WWE 13 only to take it out minutes after and start playing halo again. Which sucks because man I was enjoying X-Com but it just doesn't compare to shooting dudes in Halo 4 slayer matches. Hopefully I can break away next week to play Hitman as I finally pulled the trigger on buying that.

I have enjoyed Halo 4 a lot as well. It's the first Halo game I've ever gotten into or owned for that matter.

I'm a massive Halo 4 fan, but I'd prefer playing XCOM:EU over Halo 4.

Solution: Play Halo until Halo isn't fun anymore and you have a ton of interesting games waiting for you.

@Ravelle: Its quite literally all I've played. I had Tuesday off work and while I didn't play non-stop all day I played 2-3 matches then did something else for 45 minutes or so then proceeded to play a few more matches. That pretty much went on all day. A big part is just finishing off challenges you get some pretty massive payouts in XP.

Halo 4 is pretty good. im a lv 49 /50

Halo 4 is great if Halo is your thing, not really my thing so I've still got lots to play, X-COM included.

Eh. It's good but it's not the best time I've had this year. Forza Horizon was a blast.

I don't know if it has changed my opinion on Assassin's Creed 3 but it has allowed me to put to words what I was experiencing while playing AC3. Halo is a linear game. But within that linearity are options and the systems and AI are dynamic enough that when I fuck up a plan of action I can regroup and readjust. For example, there was a segment in Halo 4 where I was trying to walk across vines above the enemy so that I could snipe at the enemy from relative safety. Well, I miss-stepped and fell off the vines directly into a group of enemies. I switched weapons, sprayed randomly into the AI group so that they would disburse and look for cover, and then I turned around and sprinted for the nearest cover so I could regroup.

I had a similar situation happen in AC3. I was walking along the rooftops during a mission trying to assassinate various guards while I moved toward my next objective. I miss-stepped and fell into a group of enemies. However, unlike Halo 4 where I could regroup and change my tactics, I had broken one of the objectives (don't be seen) and had to restart from a checkpoint. So Halo 4's gameplay design of dynamic linearity has lead me to dislike the harsh linearity of AC3 even more.

I have this problem every year with the 2k basketball games, so this year I'm waiting till the post-Christmas drought
