I put in the disc and went to the "marketplace" option and it was 0 ms points. It may not work for everybody though.....

No go for me. I wouldn't get the Season Pass though, 4000 MS points for 2 map packs and some helmets when you could pick up Mark of the Ninja, Dust:: An Elysian Tail and Trails Evolution for that with some change left over.

So I just downloaded it free of charge it looks like. Very strange since I don't think I bought the limited edition or anything.

@triple07: It's clearly a glitch because pressing xbox marketplace should take you to the list of downloads for Halo 4 not take you directly to the confirmation screen for the crimson pack dlc.

How? It was their fuck up. The problem was this morning that for whatever reason XBL wasn't recognizing the season pass to give you the pack without charging you. As long as I got the maps then were cool. I don't feel slighted because some people were able to snag the pack for free in Microsoft's scramble to try to fix the season pass issue.

Must be random then cuz I got it and I told my friend who doesn't live far from me and it doesn't work for him.

People on the Halo subreddit saying that they got it after a few tries (quitting to the dashboard, reloading Halo 4, going to the Marketplace in-game). Still not working for me after 10 or 11 tries though. Damn!

Ah, the impression I got by some of the posts was that it was a glitch that was on-going. I've seen stuff like this before happen and they just make the map pack free for everybody. I think this happened with Max Payne 3. I guess I wouldn't be surprised if they did something a little extra for the people who did actually have to pay for it.

@HatKing: My guess is they'll prevent people who didn't have to pay for the map pack from playing the maps until they pay for them. Once they finally get on top of the issue anyway. As it stands the maps aren't that great, so I don't feel like I'll be missing them if they do take access away.

I wouldn't mind if they gave season pass holders a bunch of double XP tokens or something but only thing I was concerned about is actually getting the maps since they weren't showing up for free like they should have earlier. If anything that just means more people playing the DLC playlist which means easier to find matches. =p

@Redsox44: You have to have a star next your marketplace button on the Halo 4 title screen. If it isn't there, deleting the most recent title update and redownloading it should make the star appear.

Just realized it will be cheaper to get the rest of the maps individually than getting the season pass now that I got the first pack free. I might actually stick up to date with Halo DLC for once.

I managed to get me and 4 other friends about 8 years total of live for free because of Microsoft "promotions"

Update: It seems players who redeemed the Specialzation unlock code are getting the maps for free right now. Can anyone comment on this or confirm? I have a friend who gave his sister an extra Spec code that came with the LE and it worked for her. Please respond

@DeathbyYeti: For a while I was letting my gold lapse every month so I could get the $1/month gold deal. Worked for two years straight before they finally fixed it.

Protip: Wait until they release most of the map packs for free. Or they may do it ODST style and package a multiplayer disc in their next game with all the maps on it.

I bought the LE rabble rabble!

So I've played the game since Day 2 and haven't gotten a code in either email associated with my GT and no message on live. Is my only hope to contact support? Not that big a deal since that trial crap but I would still like to try them out.
