Halo 4 will be getting five fifteen minute shorts this fall, they will tell the story of a young UNSC cadet who is inspired by the actions of the Master Chief, later becoming the Commander of the largest most powerful UNSC war ship ever created. It will lead directly into Halo 4, and start near the very beginning of the human Covenant war.

I for one as a huge Halo fan am pretty damn happy about this, all the live action stuff up to this point has been great, and this is the closest thing I really would want to see to a Halo movie.

Please don't be terrible.

@BraveToaster: If the quality of previous live action Halo productions are any indication, it will be great. Example:

@Fosssil: I made that assumption about Mortal Kombat and the series sucked.

The quality of previous Mortal Kombat live action scenes were always between shite, shit, and shitty. Halo is a different story.

I'm afraid to ask but why is this important? It seems like a glorified advertisement instead of development or world building.

Why is it important to who?

The live action ODST stuff was phenomenal, even with what was probably a tight budget for a TV/internet ad spot campaign they did a great job. Its such a shame the Neill Blomkamp and Peter Jackson thing never happened or anything at all. Why are the biggest video game franchises like Halo and BioShock stuck in quagmires for film adaptations when people with actual talent want to make them and Blood Rayne has 3 or 4 films by Uwe Boll?

There's also this.

The Deliver Hope live action trailer they did for Reach. Everything so far has been short but sweet. 90 mins overall is pretty long for Forward Until Dawn. I really hope it all comes together well.

My favourite one, poor Kat, and poor Thom.
