I think I might do it this year. The only time I attended a midnight launch for a game was Halo: Reach. It will also be election day, so why not stay awake for 24+ hours? Who else is planning to go to the midnight launch?
Game » consists of 6 releases. First released on Nov 05, 2012
Probably me, then go vote with lack of sleep so who knows! I'll write in John-117 knowing me if I'm delirious.
I've been to a lot of midnight releases (my first was Halo 3), but I refuse to give GameStop my money anymore so Halo 4 is the first game I preordered from Amazon. Have fun at the launch, hopefully you enjoy yourself more than I have recently.
I'll be at my local Game Stop, I have gotten every Halo game at midnight since 2.
I did it once and it wasn't really worth it. Couple that with the fact that I don't have enough cash for it right now and I'm gonna wait awhile before I get mine.
@TheAsker: Seems like a fun thing to do. I just watched a live Halo 4 tournament in Dallas today, and the multiplayer is pretty darn great.
I will, I havent been excited for a Halo release since Halo 2
I am ready for average at best!
I will be, my local shit store is opening at 10 for a Halo 4 tourney thing, I can't wait. I will be texting with friends who are also waiting at midnight to get pumped. I went to the Halo Reach midnight thing, I convinced my local Blockbuster to do one for that, so they hooked me up with some Halo swag, and a 1400msp card, it was great.
Pretty sure I'll be going. The only thing likely to stop me is falling asleep.
The only two midnight launches I've ever been to were for Halo 2 and Halo 3 so I should go to this one, but unfortunately I don't have the funds to purchase the game right away.
Kinda thinkin about it just for the hell of it. I did for Reach.
@Baillie: Where are you able to get it?
My first and only midnight launch i went to was Halo 3 back when i was Uni. I might do it for Halo 4, i'm that excited for this game.
How many have Tuesday booked off of work?
I'm "going to the dentist" that day.
Eh.... I'm not sure yet. My town is small but, A game like this is still going to be swamped. I'll either leave the house AT midnight. Or just say fuck it and get it in the AM.
They got no midnight event here sadly.
I'll go get it in the morning of the 6th probably, if I can't score a copy monday.
10am the next morning when they open is more my sort of deal. :P

Are midnight launches a good oppturnity to StreetPassssss?
Lay off that crack. Bringing that shit to a Halo launch will get you shot.
Umm.
Yo?

I need to call my local gamestop if they are doing a midnight launch to receive a exclusive armor pack POWER TO THE PLAYERS
I doubt it. I'm not that excited for it to be honest. I'll grab it at some point though.
Turns out I'm not getting a midnight launch. Store opens an hour and a half early Tuesday morning instead.
Yeah, I'll be there. Had this shit preordered for six months, I'm damn sure playing it ASAP.
I'll just walk into WalMart at midnight and get it.
My Amazon order should be here at 9 am, and I don't have class that day. So stoked.
Even though I am a crazy Halo fan, I'm not going to a midnight launch. I'd freeze to death before I got my copy in this british autumn chill!
Nope, waiting for my package of the LE and the H4 Tritton Triggers, and another parcel of McFarlane Halo figures to finish off my Halo display (I like I said, crazy fan is crazy), to come from Amazon - in the warm comfort of my own home. So excited though. One more day!
I'll put up with the bull**** from the kids and Gamestop employees because I want to play the game at 12:01 am. It would be impossible for me to sleep through the night and not play Halo 4. Also it's one of the few events in my area where like-minded people come together and celebrate a particular release. Same thing goes for waiting in line to see a movie or get first row seating at a concert. I appreciate the experience, not the logistics.
There won't be a midnight launch in my country but I'd still be getting it slightly earlier because of the time difference!
So stoked for it now after watching the whole of Forward Unto Dawn mini series in a single sitting.
I might post a picture or two of the event Microsoft will be holding here depending how lame it is.
I'll be getting mine at midnight. A few friends from work and I will be standing in line out in the cold South Dakota air waiting for the doors to open. That idea of staying up for awhile then going out to vote sounds like a great plan. I'm going to have to look into this thought and see if I can pull it off. Nothing better then saving the world then going out and casting my vote for the person I feel could best save our country.
I'll be at the midnight release with a bunch of friends.
I went to the launch for Reach.
and vowed to never go to a midnight launch again.
Edit: I'm actually gonna skip the game, I do want to play the multiplayer but I'm not re-subbing to Live for it. I'd get bored of the MP within a week like I did with Reach anyway.
Might go round to my friends house this week to play split screen and the campaign though, he's a Halo nut so I'll be able to play some online then.
Only one I went to was GTA IV i had no work the next day so thought I would stroll down, there was like 200 people there I couldn't believe it didn't get my copy to 1am. Now I preorder games online usually at my door at 8am on launch day.
I'm only going if I'm working very late tomorrow since I tend to shop at the GameStop near my work. No big deal if I can't get it until Tuesday seeing as how I'll probably be working enough late hours to push back any meaningful gaming until December at the earliest :P
I planned on it since I'm on vacation, anyway. But Amazon has release delivery so I'll take their 10 bucks in video credit and lack of tax.
If my buddies go I might stop by. Won the Halo 3 and Reach midnight tournaments so maybe I could win another 50 bucks.
