I love halo

Halo music is always so epic

Finally, the generic shooter that consisted of "Travel through valley, shoot aliens, travel through corridor, shoot aliens, travel through valley, shoot aliens, travel through corridor, shoot aliens" can be re-lived by millions more. Isn't 5 games like this enough? I just hope to god that Halo 4 introduces SOMETHING new.

Like I've said.  10 years is not enough time to start throwing remakes around. 

This feels really dirty to me. Count me out, I'll just keep my nostalgia.

@TekZero: They only waited 6 or so years to remake Resident Evil, and that game ended up better than the original.

not having the Halo 1 multi-player is a personal insult to me, and my family.

I love me some original ass Halo, but this feels dirty. Also, this trailer is fucking awful.

I wonder if they'll remake The Library to be less terrible, too.

Only 7 maps are coming back? Why not all of them?

I love the first Halo... Let's see how this turns out.

Wow? Really, only 6 years? Geez

And 6 years for Twin Snakes, aka MGS1. I don't think games should be held by the same rules as movies when it comes to remakes since it's a younger genre.

At least they just ran a trailer at the press conference instead of trying to take out time to pretend it's a big deal.

I might play it, I might not. I think the original Halo is underrated by a lot of people, but equally overrated by others. The truth lies somewhere in the middle.

To be fair, Halo introduced dual-analog FPS controls and popularized regenerative health, but that's not enough to make the remake worth playing. Hopefully when they say "remastered" campaign, they mean "improved" and not just "shinier," but I won't hold my breath.

Can't wait.

Never played the original. May pick this up. Is it disk based or xbla. Has to be xbla right? Don't tell me they take 45$ for upped gfx and some chiivos

yeah, i don't see the point of this package if it doesn't include CE multiplayer.

To be fair even a high definition makeover will not save this game from its boring bits. You're still going to have to backtrack over previous levels as before. 

@Lebensbaum: I've played all of them on heroic, except 2 which I skipped.

Let me know if they took out The Library.

Perhaps you should check the definition of "shovelware" and "fail".

This is a huge game that MS likely invested a great deal of money and time into and will almost certainly sell millions. Like it or not, Halo is a classic game. I don't remember hearing complaints about the MGS or Silent Hill HD collections.

Glad they opted to just do new maps for REACH opposed to new multiplatyer.

I don't suppose they shortened The Library. And hey, it'd be totally cool to do that while you're tinkering around with the old girl. I might just dig that disk out again, still love the original campaign.

Can't say I'm a fan o the helmet redesign but I'm intrigued by everything else. One of the funnest games back in the day for co-op.

I've been meaning to replay Halo: CE too.  Can't wait to play some Blood Gulch!

Makes me miss my Halo Special Edition Xbox.  Maybe this one will come with a green skin I can put on my 360 for the retro look...

I'm between two minds. One one hand, I hopped onto the Xbox bandwagon a little late, so Reach is the only Halo game I ever bought. I may end up getting this, since I never played much of the original's campaign. On the other hand, it does seem a little pointless to remake such a young game.

I'm much more interested in this than Halo 4.

I loved Halo back in its heyday. My friends and I would play some Halo 2 multiplayer religiously on the weekends. Unfortunately I have to say that this honestly seems like a money grab to me. :(
