I'll be going to a midnight launch of Halo: Reach. This is my first so what should I expect in terms attitude from the crowd and employees? Also the event takes place in Eaton Centre of downtown Toronto. How much earlier should I be there?
Halo: Reach
Game » consists of 13 releases. Released Sep 14, 2010
A prequel to Halo: Combat Evolved, chronicling one of the most cataclysmic events of the Halo Universe through the eyes of a squad of Spartan super-soldiers known as Noble Team. It is also the last game in the series developed by Bungie.
Halo Reach Midnight launch
Dunno, I went to pick up Halo 3 at my local Wal-mart's midnight release and there was one other guy there. I live in a small country town though.
The Gamestop in my area usually has a pretty large showing for most big titles. Before 12 they ring you up, and then you get back in line where they hand out games starting at 12. Bring a friend (my brother usually goes with me) and you should meet some cool, like-minded people.
I'm doing my third midnight release. The first was GoW2 at Game Crazy and it was not particularly interesting, just a bunch of people out kinda late, my son and I were out in about 20 minutes.. The second was for MW2 there was a long line but there were people giving away drinks and the National Guard was there and they had give-aways from Best Buy. My son and I had a lot of fun, though the line meant we didn't get as much playtime in once we got home (midnight releases on school nights suck!). We're going to a different Best Buy for this one. I don't think they've done a midnight launch at this store before, so it will be interesting to see how it shapes up. Of course this time I have our copies pre-ordered so I may get out more quickly.
If i didn't have to work at 5am tuesday morning i would totally go but i have to get sleep i am not a young kid anymore my body needs it and i could use a sick day but those are going towards my upcoming vacation :)
But i will be thinking about reach the entire time working.. drooling and sobbing.
I went to the midnight launch of Halo 2 and it was a bust in my small-ish town. I wish stores in my area had a reason to have some sort of event. Since Halo 2 I've always just picked up my games in the morning or pre-ordered if I felt it would be a big release. This time I ordered from Amazon with free release day shipping. It still hasn't shipped yet, though, and it's been a few days. They're cutting it close.
