Ohhhhh, so this is what they're saving for e3!

Halo 1?? Holy shit. And 2's Anniversary. Awesome.

Halo 4 already looked pretty amazing. It's easily one of the best looking games on either of the older consoles.

I would really like to see this ported to the PC. And I mean completely new ports for Halo 1 and 2. 1's is OK, 2's is tied to GFWL and would be a horrible port even if it wasn't.

Anxious to see what they do about the multiplayer, this could potentially be amazing.

Man, if this is true, I'm kinda bummed that ODST and Reach are getting left out. Those two we're probably my favorites from a narrative perspective.

The only Halo games I've played to completion are the first one and ODST, and most of Reach, so I really hope this ends up being true. I would love to finally dive headfirst into the series since it seems like there's a lot to the universe that I've been missing out on. It'll also give me a pretty damn fine reason to pick up an Xbox One sooner rather than later.

If this is true, then it's a big day for Halo news.

This is quite possibly the biggest HD remaster collection... wow. This is surprising.

It sucks that Reach is getting left out but this IS called the Master Chief collection, and there are four remastered games in there so you really can't complain. ODST I could take it or leave it, such a bleh story IMO.

It's a really good day to own an Xbox One. Sadly I'm not in that group lol. Soon.

Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach likely won't be a part of the package.

To be honest, this part is putting me a bit off. Reach and ODST are the only two games in the series that I haven't played, and in hindsight they might both be the most interesting of the series. I would totally get it if it was all Halo, games but now... meh. Not sure.

Hmmm, releasing something called the Master Chief collection implies to me that he won't be a focus in Halo 5 and future installments. (Maybe this is already known, but I haven't kept lockdown on the Halo canon since Halo 3)

It means less work for them! But they can still B.S through the marketing and get the same price per unit.

Well that would impress me if they could reproduce those 4 in 1080p and I would definitely consider buying it with an XB1 if it was to come out this year.

Sounds plausible. HD collections are pretty awesome and I encourage more of them now that we live in the future. And four games is more realistic than six, or however many games the series has now.

Not to go off topic but does anyone else find the character design for the new, supposedly male character kind of resembles Raidens skull suit in MGS2. Looks like something you'd have to get ribs removed to wear.

Anyway, This seems cool but I hope there's an option to buy each game indivdually. Because I doubt they're going to do much to improve Halo 3&4's visuals. A smoother frame rate would be nice though.

I just want Halo 2's online multiplayer back. I miss those maps. Hoping that shows up here.

I wonder if these will be released as a bundle or if each game will be staggered. The article said:

If 343 is planning on Halo 5 and Halo 6 I wouldn't be surprised if 1 and 2 were released this fall and 3 and 4 were released in fall of 2016.

But ODST and Reach were my favourite games in the series. When will they get the love?

I think Halo 2 Anniversary will be the only remaster while everything else will be ports and campaign only.

It is the Master Chief collection after all, he ain't in multiplayer.

I'm a little less excited about this if it's true than I was for the rumour of a Halo 2: Anniversary Edition. The reason I like Halo: Anniversary Edition is the amount of work they put into updating it. If they have to update three other games in top of Halo 2 in one package then there's no way it will be as impressive as a single game would have been.

Honestly, I'll buy the system for this. Hoping for a bundle.

The one problem I see with this is if they include multiplayer for ALL the games. I feel that would segment the potential player pool for any individual game and make all of them (or some of them) not have enough players for active communities.

I still would have preferred just Halo 2, but I'm biased since it is my favorite in the series (for multiplayer, at least).

My guess is that they have Halo 2 Anniversary (campaign and mutliplayer, with this possibly being its own separate release) and then they have the Master Chief Collection which will be Halo 2 Anniversary + Halo 1, 3, and 4 (campaigns only). No way could they do the multiplayer for all of them so I"m guessing it's just the campaigns for the rest.

@boozak: imo, the new character looks more female than male. Also, the helmet kind of reminds me of Samus.

Halo 4 is the only Halo game I haven't played so if this is true I'd check it out just for that. Even though I've played through the first three games multiple times it could be fun playing through those again too.

@rotnac: @andrew2696: I agree. But Bungie have confirmed it's a new male character. I, like a lot of people thought that they might be pulling a Mass Effect and putting Cortana in a suit, but apparently not.

Welp, this is not a thing I want at all. I would have bought a "Halo 2 Anniversary" that got the same treatment Halo CE got, but I have zero interest in playing a "HD Collection" of Halo 1-4 (well, if Halo 2's multiplayer is intact, maybe that'll be enough >_> )

And it doesn't even have two of my favourite games in the series. Fuck that.

I think it's more of a case of the Master Chief character being absent from ODST and Reach, which is why they're not in the supposed collection.

Sounds much better then just a redo of Halo 2 as was previously rumored. Assuming they do some nice graphical updates anyways.

I've played the games out of order (3, 1, 4) and never played 2 so if they put all this together under a shiny new coat of paint then I'm on board.

This would be a pretty clever way of getting Xbox 360 users to go out and buy an Xbox One, especially if the price for a bundle like this would be reasonable. I've been striving to go all digital this generation, but considering that I own all the previous Halo special/collectors/too expensive editions I could be driven to buy a physical copy of this as well.

I was hoping for a Halo 2: Anniversary (I never played the original), so this is good news.

I'd love for it to go to PC as well, but I bet anything if this is a thing that is going to happen it's going to remain exclusive on the X-box One as an attempt to drive of the sales for that console. That's what the jaded gamer in me thinks anyways. The hopeful one really does want a PC version though.
