As someone who's been known to wear Ecko clothing from time to time and as someone who liked Halo (well, Halo 3, anyway), you would think that Ecko's limited edition Halo t-shirts would be right up my alley. But surprise! They all look kind of awful and feel like they were designed for people who want others to think they like Halo, as opposed to people who, you know, actually like Halo. It doesn't help that the descriptions are written in some lame kind of attempt at gaming shorthand. Take this one, for example.

Limited Edition Halo tees are a tribute to this legendary video game trilogy. Don't get Pwned! Laser shooting Spartans make up the screenprint design of this Halo tee. 100% cotton. Machine wash. Imported.

Gee, it's a good thing someone threw "Don't get Pwned" into that description. As an avid game enthusiast, I don't feel comfortable spending money with people who can't speak my language. Thanks, Ecko, for "keeping it real" on these shirts. Here's a look at a few of them, but you'll need to go to the Ecko online store if you want to see all six.

#4 Posted by ArbitraryWater (12138 posts) -

...I wouldn't wear any of those shirts and I like Halo.

#5 Posted by CitizenKane (10508 posts) -

Wow, all of those designs are terrible.  They're like what middle school boys wear to make them think they look cool.

#6 Edited by Heartagram (1183 posts) -

Yeah those are pretty fucking horrible. You can go to Hot Topic and Find better video game shirts.

#7 Posted by JJWeatherman (14573 posts) -

As previously mentioned, all terrible.

#8 Posted by Revell (51 posts) -

I got one of the MGS4 shirts from a similar Japanese promotion. Wish they were more in that style.

#9 Posted by Rotnac (826 posts) -

those shirts are awful...the least worst of the bunch imo is the 'Ecko Halo Seek And Destroy T-Shirt'. id get that one if it didnt have all that 'SEEKandDESTROY' stuff on the top.

this seems the best one of them all but still UGLY

#13 Posted by PowerSerj (987 posts) -

What in the sweet holy hell is going on in that first one? Who in the fuck let that design get past the concept stage?

"Hey I have an idea. Let's place a bunch of Master Chiefs scattered about the t-shirt. Some will even be upside down. No wait, how about a spiral of Master Chiefs disppearing toward the center. No wait, let's make something that gangbangers who play Xbox 360 will wear. Well, let's make them all."

Ewwww.

#20 Posted by TheHBK (5563 posts) -

I know you like these Ecko shirts but no offense jeff...Have you seen this guy?  He is a total douchebag, no one should wear anything by that guy.

#21 Posted by Djstyles92 (953 posts) -

those look terrible...why would they  make them?

#22 Posted by SilverArrows (97 posts) -

Way too noisy .... how about a coherent design, and not just something that looks like vomit.

#23 Posted by Nintaiyo (54 posts) -
Hahaha, why does this shirt have 12 (visible) Master Cheifs on it? Is that necessary?
What a ridiculous design.

#27 Posted by Lyphen (75 posts) -

Disgusting, even the most obese of neckbearders wouldn't wear these tarps.

#28 Posted by nickyvegas (110 posts) -

These look like a joke.  I can't imagine people liking these.

#29 Posted by Dandy (57 posts) -

Don't get Pwned

@RossCowan:

They all look pretty cool to me, its obvious that most of the people here fit into a certain fashion demographic that is entirely different then the ecko demographic

just terrible

I actually like that one. The other ones are ugly but that one, I would buy that. Not for the price that they are asking though, maybe around €15-20.
#33 Posted by stokerd (48 posts) -

Wow! Those are really bad. It is like an intern designer had free reign and just put anything they thought was "cool" there. Ugh.

#34 Posted by cikame (1076 posts) -

I can copy paste a picture of a dude in a spiral and sell it!!!??

#35 Posted by Azteck (7449 posts) -

Why.... would anyone even consider these designs? It's like an amateur photoshopper made them.

The demographic or wearing poorly designed shirts? I am fine with some of the "thug" shirts out there and often feel they look good but would never wear or own one, these however are just really really poorly designed and from someone who is not a halo fan in the slightest feel bad for HALO as an IP. I wear graphic print tees daily and like unqiueness, art style and well color but these really just look bad besides maybe that yellow one that everyone else feel is decent looking and not some spiral pattern of master chief.
#37 Posted by Demonstride (864 posts) -

These shirts are horrible looking.

#41 Posted by stinky (1555 posts) -

these are terrible.

free head shots? someone is offering to stand still for  you? i don't get it.
or if you wear that shirt you want someone to end it all for you?

#42 Posted by Daftasabat (517 posts) -

Hey guys if ya don't like em, send em my way, us brits are always short changed on merchandise over here, not to mention the $-£ ratio, now that sucks! If something is $30 in the US is £30 here in the UK!

Ecko marketing meeting wiretap

"Okay people, what's our target demo?"
Shlub-1: "Avid game enthusiasts?"
Shlub-2: "Gamers!"
Shlub-3: "People who like to Pwn."
Shlub-2: "...Or by corollary, do not like to be Pwned."
"Great, let's go with that.  Johnson, get that sales description up in the next 3 minutes, or I'll give you a halo."
#44 Posted by ChunkyB (27 posts) -

I'd rather see a "Halo vs. Ecco" shirt. That's a matchup for the ages.

#45 Posted by JackiJinx (3091 posts) -

I bet they got 12 year olds to design them.

#46 Posted by Seedofpower (3949 posts) -

Give it a month and they all will be 75% off.

Average Halo audience
#48 Posted by sgjackson (529 posts) -

I read the "free head shots" shirt as "free nerd shots" and it was 100 times funnier. I probably buy the nerd shots shirt if it has anything but Halo on it.

#49 Posted by Chewii101 (822 posts) -

Looks like Mr. Ecko threw up on his Halo 3 disk and decided that was the new clothes line for his company.

Among the worst shirt designs I've ever seen...
