I'm confused.  You can't get root beer there?  What are you supposed to drink then?

#4 Posted by MonstroUK (74 posts) -

Also no hush puppies or red lobster biscuits. Actually no biscuits at all.

That right there is the biggest shame of it all.  Those biscuits are delicious.  I don't care for honey mustard but I would miss the other things if I didn't live in the States.

Check out supermarkets, with the exception of Corn Dogs and Red Lobster biscuits, I have seen all of the other items for sale in the UK.
Unless only England has them, and Scotland really is still in the 1970s. (No offence to Scottish people though).

I always hear the tales of the red lobster biscuits, but I have never tried them. What makes them so good?

#28 Posted by Steven9428 (58 posts) -

I'm from Scotland too . IF your near Glasgow theres a giant sweet shop in the main street that imports stuff from America . It's more expensive but worth it . There is root beer.

#29 Posted by CornontheCobbe (2645 posts) -

#30 Posted by Steven9428 (58 posts) -

That's a shame, I'd say that a quality root beer or lime/orange soda are the best non-alcoholic partners with fish and chips.

#35 Posted by CharleyTony (924 posts) -

#36 Posted by Pibo47 (3166 posts) -

No...rootbeer??? Omg. That is total suckage.

#37 Posted by MattyFTM (14432 posts) -

Couldn't you make your own corn dogs? It's just corn-based batter (which I'm sure you could find a recipe for) and a hot dog. There are plenty of chicken things virtually identical to chicken tenders. While I've never had American Root Beer, from what I understand it's very similar to Sarsaparilla, which is readily available in Northern England. Dandelion & Burdock is also reasonably similar, which is available all across the UK. And finally, honey mustard can be found easily.
