Hamburger

Object » linked to 264 games

A hamburger is a hunk of ground beef served between two pieces of bun-configured bread. Hamburgers are often served with a variety of toppings and condiments. It is named for the region in which it was invented, not for the kind of meat (as is often mistakenly suggested).

What's the most hamburger patties YOU have eaten on one burger?

Alright, I probably should have made this a poll, but whatever.  It's 2010, and through all our advancements as humans has come the ability to put more and more patties on a hamburger.  What was once seen as excessive has made its way into the primary menu at many mainstream burger joints.
So I ask you, Giant Bomb community, what is your record for most hamburger patties that you've enjoyed on a single hamburger?
I will begin with the very boring, unmanly, and overall just plain weak number of 2.
T___T

Three. Not an experience I want to repeat. I don't think I will ever be hungry enough to need three patties on my burger.

2. I would eat more, but here in the UK they don't like to challenge us with meat.

it was one of those BK stackers, they are kinda small but they stack em high.

#5 Posted by cap123 (2475 posts) - 3 years, 2 months ago

3 big ones, of my own making.

#6 Posted by MAN_FLANNEL (2427 posts) - 3 years, 2 months ago

I have had a triple whopper before, so 3.  However, I remember McDonald's having a double Big Mac back in the 90's, but I don't remember if it had 3 or 4 patties.

3, at a Hard Rock Cafe, I believe. Extremely hard to eat.

2, they were very thick of my father's making. i couldn't do more then that without unhinging my jaw.

#10 Posted by HatKing (4405 posts) - 3 years, 2 months ago

3 maybe... I don't really remember.  I've had 2 for sure, but I don't see myself going beyond that unless it was a special occasion/challenge.

I'm also at a extremely weak 2, I never get hungry enough to eat 3 or more.

Love those BK Stackers, but can only bring myself to eat the double.  Never felt hungry enough to challenge myself with the triple, let alone the quad.

12,000

I had nothing but a giant-ass hamburger which I consumed over the course of ten years while imprisoned in a Soviet hamburger factory. The bun got a little stale after the first year or so, and you can imagine how it went from there.

he's posting from the netherworld of the hamburger. it's similar to the netherworld of the force you see obi-wan kenobi in at the end of return of the jedi.

3.

Not even pansy tiny burgers that most fast food places have, but three rather large burgers with a piece of cheese in between each of them.  It was delicious.  I adore A&W's Grandpa burger.  I of course had the full meal with fries and a root beer too.

#21 Posted by Illmatic (1358 posts) - 3 years, 2 months ago

As the Big Mac is the biggest hamburger I've ever eaten, I'm at a modest 2.

3 and that's the highest I will go.

#23 Posted by Th3_James (2537 posts) - 3 years, 2 months ago

2, not much but i am 6"7 and big... one of my friends is a twig and orders 7 bacon cheeseburgers and 1 order or large fries at mcdonalds, and is still hungry after

there must be some mystical patty black hole effect when consuming mass ammounts of beef

#24 Edited by Venatio (4425 posts) - 3 years, 2 months ago

I once ate 5 at the same time, it was intense but fucking awesome

#25 Posted by onimonkii (2314 posts) - 3 years, 2 months ago

4 on a monster mac

i think it's more about the size of the patty though, like 4 big mac patties is nowhere near as bad as say 4 six dollar burger patties

#26 Posted by Fbomb (1165 posts) - 3 years, 2 months ago

We used to order a 6 patty animal burger for shits and giggles in highschool.... or was it 8? Either way, it was disgusting. If you squeezed it, the grease would pour off onto the tray.

#27 Posted by DanielJW (4914 posts) - 3 years, 2 months ago

Wendy's 3/4 Pounder.Three patties of pure grease and glory.

probably only two.  I might of tried three somewhere, but everytime I go to Wendy's or something and see a triple meat patty it looks completely disgusting.  So if I haven't ate more then that in the past then I doubt I ever will.

On a second note this thread makes me really hungry for some  kind of fast food burger.

5x1, animal style at In-N-Out.
That, Internet denizens, is what a hamburger is all about.
. . . five pieces of meat, with one slice o' cheese. The onions grilled, the sauce thick, and the flavor large.
Jeez, that sounds so illicit.

#31 Posted by Whisperkill (2969 posts) - 3 years, 2 months ago

8. I kid you not.

#32 Posted by ImperiousRix (2933 posts) - 3 years, 2 months ago

Damn guys.  I was planning on making a trip to BK during my hour break between classes tomorrow, and you're all making me want to fore-go my usual Double Stacker in favor of a more ambitious Triple Stacker.

What am I saying? Of course it was worth it.

Two hamburger patties is my usual. The Double Double from In-N-Out. I don't think I've eaten a burger with 3 patties on it.

Fast food?  5.

Homemade?  2.

Of course, my homemade burgers are about an inch thick...

Just two, honestly I don't know if burgers with more than two patties are that readily available in UK fast food restaurants and two is plenty enough burger for me but it'd be cool to try more if I got the opportunity.

Yeah, I've been hearing that a lot.  Cultural differences, eh?

8 patties from Wendy's. Disgusting.

There's actually a short documentary about it that my friend made, that I'm reluctant to post.

#46 Posted by Hot_Karl (3309 posts) - 3 years, 2 months ago

4, I get the 4x4 at In-N-Out when I'm starved & want to just have a calorie fest.

@KillerBears:
I'm sure that we'd all love to see that epic short film. For serious.

1. I can't eat burgers with a roof... just playin', but I dislike burgers with more than 2 patties.

#50 Posted by TheGreatGuero (9067 posts) - 3 years, 2 months ago

Two. I see no reason to go beyond two patties.
