    The Hammer Bros. suit is a power up that you can get in Super Mario Bros. 3. This suit enables Mario to throw hammers, just like Fire Mario throws fireballs.

    The Hammer Bros suit is a rare powerup in Super Mario Bros 3 for the NES. The suit consists of a Hammer Bro's dorsal shell and helmet. Equipping it allows the wearer to throw hammers in a high arc, which damage enemies. Ducking while wearing the suit makes the player fireproof, but the suit also inhibits Mario's ability to slide down a hill.

    Wearing the Hammer Bros suit can cause an Easter egg to appear in the game. If the player finishes an Airship level while wearing the Hammer Bros suit, the King of that world will give this special message: "Hey, how about lending me your clothes? No dice?! What a drag."
