    The cute animal mascot of Valkyria Chronicles. He is a winged porcavian piglet adopted by Squad 7.

    Hans is discovered early in the game by Squad 7 during a mission in the Kloden wildwood. He seemed scared and had lost his family. Welkin decides to use the animal trails through the forest to flank the enemy Imperial base and gain the upper hand in an otherwise difficult battle. The squad attributes their victory to the knowledge Hans had brought, and adopt him.
     
    Hans is also one of the earliest characters, along with Irene Ellet, to find out Princess Cordelia's startling secret.
