    Overview

Hany on the Road is a side-scrolling running game in which the player, as the living haniwa statue Hany/Hani or their gray friend Lemon, runs across a stage with four lanes to its end. The player can switch from one lane to the other by pressing up and down. Some courses are auto-scrolling, with each lane moving faster as the player moves down the screen, while others only scroll when Hany moves forward. He'll also have to contend with enemies that can either be defeated with Hany's limited-range kick flip or can be avoided by switching lanes, many of which are also based on Japanese folklore.

The game is the sequel to the vertically-scrolling 1989 shoot 'em up Hany in the Sky.
