How awesome would a Harry Potter MMO be?

It could fit in so easily with your years at hogwarts being the complete level system. Being a witch, werewolf, deatheater, or wizard as your classes. Make potions, learn new spells, and go off and fight Voldomort.

Idk about you guys, but that's an MMO that would be dope.

I was just thinking about a Harry Potter MMO the other day. I think it would be sweet, as long as it is better than the Harry Potter movie based games

Yea, I'm not a big fan of the games. They add a lot of pointless gimmicks to it. I wonder what they will do with the next game based on Deathly Hallows, since the movie will be split into 2...wonder if they game will be split into 2.

It would be cool, Id never seee my friends or family ever again though :P
but yea, Id love it if it were good.Only good harry potter game imo was Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. (anyone who played it knows what I mean, open world environment, awesome quests, amazing graphics for the time, so many positives about that game...)

Not a big Harry Potter fan myself. The only MMO's i want are The Old Republic and a Pokemon MMO. Nothing else interests me MMO wise. Except a City of Heroes 2.

Why would they even attempt to make a Harry Potter MMO ten years ago if the series was just being set up?

The books were pretty big at the time. Let me say that again: the books were fucking huge. Harry Potter was like The da Vinci Code of the 90s. And Garriott was British and worked for EA. That's actually how EA ended up with the Harry Potter rights.

I have an interest in the series.....(PSST!!!....look at the left column of the page!!!) ....and I support this idea. A HP MMO has always been an idea I have had and, if it was made, I would definitely try it out. However, classes should not be the main focus, but instead on social interaction and battling. Dueling could be a regular activity, but, unfortunately, the series was not battle-after-battle but instead usually one to two fight scenes a book (seventh is exception obviously). Nonetheless, I am sure they could do something with it and, damn, people will play it.

That's the biggest draw of this idea! I'm not sure what would make up the classes or anything like that, but I've always thought Harry Potter had a great universe with great locations and characters. I'd love to see an Harry Potter MMO. I think a property like this would have been a great direction for some of those more kid-oriented MMOs like Free Realms.

They would have to wait until they finished the Deathly Hollows game until they could start even thinking about a Harry Potter MMORPG. Also everyone should either be a witch or wizard that has to choose between Harry's side and Voldemort's side.
