Hatsune Miku is a virtual idol originally created for the Vocaloid 2 software. Since creation, she has become a widely recognized figure, both as a representative of vocal synthesis music, and as a character in general.
@scott_c: You're assuming sexual interest exists where there isn't necessarily any. It's possible to enjoy Miku and her music without creepy sexual interest just as it's possible to be fond of Ariel in The Little Mermaid without such interest.
@scott_c: Actually, as a fan of both anime and Miku, and who does not have an unhealthy obsession with either, all I can say is that you're wrong and judging others entirely on preconceived notions.

To be fair, anime & Hatsune fandom can go well beyond "fondness" and you know it...and Ariel doesn't have giant boobs with a low cut shirt and miniskirt, either. Last I checked there wasn't a market for Ariel body pillows and stuff like that, either.
Fandom of anything can go too far. Singling out anime and Hastune Miku fans is disingenuous.
@scott_c: @hailinel: Let's end this circular discussion, shall we, gang? Thanks. I get that people have very different viewpoints on this, but this can only devolve from here, and frankly, our mod team has other things to worry about today. Please, for the love of my sanity today, just say, "OK, Sparky, we'll either drop this or we'll take it to a PM where we will discuss this civilly and like adults."
