Interactive movie...
After playing the demo for this game a few weeks previously I was sooooooo excited to get it, it's actually the first game I've ever had on pre-order!
Got it the day it came out and immediately shoved it in the console and was ready to rock.
The opening was really promising, being able to move about the house and interact with everything, graphics are beautiful.
I played it right the way through that very night. Did I enjoy it? Well yes but I have to say I was a little disappointed. The whole thing plays like an interactive movie and while it's a nice new concept and has a storyline that will keep you gripped to the end I can't help but feel that I didn't actually do that much to complete the game. At no point was I stuck and having to really think about things which I used to think I hated doing but have now come to the conclusion that it is the most satisfying part of gaming. Being stuck somewhere and having to think really carefully, try out new tactics etc, There's nothing like getting past a part in a game that you've been stuck on for ages, total satisfaction! And I think that's what is lacking in this game, satisfaction and while I know there are different endings and different choices you can make I won't be re-playing the game, simply because I can't be bothered to go through it again when there are so many other games out there that I want to play. So in conclusion, yes it is a good game with a concept I think can be developed much further but if you're looking for a game with a good life-span then I don't think this is the game for you, or at least it wasn't for me.
