So I just got HoN and I was wondering which is the best hero to play for a newbie but is also good?
Thanks!
Also, if anyone has a recommended build for Flint Beastwood it would help a lot. Thanks.
Heroes of Newerth
Game » consists of 2 releases. Released May 12, 2010
Heroes of Newerth is a free-to-play, stand alone MOBA-game developed by S2 Games.
Just starting out, what heroes to play?
Play a few games, then pick the heros that are always banned. No LoL for me, :P
Or play LoL.
" Wait a moment. Flint Beastwood? But it's just like... I cannot believe this. "Yep, you got it buddy.
He even has dual guns and has an ability called ''Dead Eye''.
Flint starting items- Runes of blight(90), 2 duck boots(300), Health potion(100), 2 Minor Totem(106)
Next - Steam boots, Firebrand, Frostbrand. Then I useally savage mace but all depends on what your facing and how much gold your getting.
Also you probably want to sell one duckboots eventually and turn the other one into a Soulscream ring.
Skills - Flare, Deadeye, Flare, Hollowpoint, Flare, Money shot, Flare, then Dead eye and Hallowpoint but get Moneyshot when you can
You may feel the need to take some more in deadeye early if you are getting harassed heavily.
When first starting try picking ranged heroes with stuns, they are much safer to play.
Witch Slayer, Pyromancer, Voodoo Jester. Many more as well.
Play Standard draft games to get a good mix of heroes to play so you can learn more of them. Standard draft you get 3 heroes to pick from to play one Str, Agi, And int.
" @NekuSakuraba: He is Pretty fragile but he has great burst damage and gets the largest attack range in the game so he's pretty good. "Thanks, you helped a bunch! ^__^
Why don't you try Predator, that was my noob hero for a while. Maybe it's changed though since I've played.
Is he a good damage dealer? Why don't you try Predator, that was my noob hero for a while. Maybe it's changed though since I've played.
Oh wow, someone else playing this game. First off, come check out the Giantbomb channel!
Secondly, I highly recommend starting with a support character like Glacius or Demented Shaman. You don't have to worry to much about last-hitting, items, nor being an excellent player - just your prescence in teamfights makes you useful. While you're playing support you can see other types of heroes in action and then play what you like.
If you're already hooked on the damage, Flint is pretty easy to pick up. Pestilence is a neat semi-carry with damage and a stun. Chronos is a pretty easy carry to start with, though I would stay away from carries until you're more confident in your play.
EDIT: I play on weekends, and I'd be happy to play with you. Friend me as "Mageknight". "Octazooka" (Nytrik here) is also a cool GB HON dude.
@NekuSakuraba
If you're playing a support dealer... Tough luck. Try to stay at the edges of team fights so you don't get targeted, but more often than not their nukers are going to be going straight for you, as you're the squishiest member of the team.
As a damage guy, if you find yourself drawing a lot of stuns, pick up a Shrunken Head from the Defensive section of the shop. That'll give you a few seconds of magic immunity, which should get you through the brunt of a teamfight. If you can, focus down their stunners in while SH is on; without them, you'll have free reign to roll the rest of their team.
