I played like 3 games, never really played a dota before and i have to say this is by far, the worse gaming community i've ever seen. There's this whole system ingame to help noobs join new games with other noobs so they can learn the basics of the game right? So i've joined those and every time i got my ass kicked they were either laughing at me or kicking me of the game, no help tips, no hints, just a big f*** you. Great community you got there. 
 
I'll certainly pass on this game and recommand everyone not to buy that thing either. Gaming should be fun and a community should be helpful, hot like this bunch of jackasses.

That sucks. The game does really need to have some sort of a tutorial mode or even a single player option to figure out what's going on. The game has an incredibly steep learning curve and unless you've got someone showing you how the game works, it's gonna be a pain in the arse to play and figure out. Sorta like if you don't know anything about football then picked up Madden, cept at least w/Madden, there are practice modes where it's not just everyone on the other team beating you down while your own team complains about how much of a noob you are.

I love me some Warcraft 3, but I hate DotA.  It's just so...  Blech.  It's probably because the community for it is crap.  Teammates are often controlling and expect you to be a pro the moment you start playing, and people are generally annoying.  Not to mention that 90% of the games I've played have ended in a 1v1 because everyone else quit. 
 
It's a fun concept, but I just can't stand playing it with morons.  I prefer Footies, myself. 
 
Also, attack of the bots and/or noobs who just made accounts for beta keys!

Sent out some more. It looks like the game will be going into open beta soon so soon this topic won't be necessary.

haven't seen anything from HON, but im playing LoL and its pretty good. hey its free, and made by the original Dota creators.

Hm i tried LoL buts not a game for me.
I watched HoN on my friend and its just great.
So i want to play it 2gether with my friends so i'd be very pleased if some1 could send me such a beta key ;)
