Hitman 5 Trailer

#1 Posted by cyraxible (696 posts) -

After a low murmur on the Hitman forums regarding an ARG surrounding baldie's next adventure they've finally released something a little bit more substantive.

I have been waiting for this announcement to come for a long time now. Anyone else excited to see what they'll do with the series this time?

July 6th 2011? or November 7th 2006 and we all just completely missed this game?

You would say that ;P But yeah it's made effective from something so little. Definitely excited to learn more.

AWESOME!

I'm interested in seeing how their experience with K&L will effect this game.

I am getting sick of teaser trailers. Hope this is as good as Blood Money.

The original Hitman was ok, and i was proud my country actually made a decent game. But honestly this series is mediocre at best, the AI has always been horrible, and the graphics has never been good at any point.

How they ever managed to make it to 5 is beyond me.

Awesome! Good to know it's coming. Blood Money was incredible.

Maybe they mean June 7th 2011 as in E3? Seems likely.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I'm VERY excited for this. Its been way too long.

This trailer was out ages ago. Very excited though. Loved 'Blood Money'.

Yayyy.  I've missed Hitman dearly.  I went back a while ago and picked up Blood Money and was surprised how fun that game was.  Hitman 2 was my favorite in the series though.

I'm hoping they got all of their shitty game making out of their systems with Kayne & Lynch.  I do not want to see Hitman return as some cobbled together mess.

Please dont let the snake indicate the colombian missions in the first game.

I've never played a Hitman game so this is good news for me.

Bloodmoney was excellent. The best Hitmangame. I'm just worried that Kane and Lynch may seep into HM5.

Funny enough the janky AI is part of my love for this series. Those chin-scratching suspicious mother fuckers.
I think it made it because there's nothing like it. Because everyone knows a game lives and dies on its graphics and AI. Nevermind gameplay.

Hopefully it won't. What lessons are there to be learned from those games?
- Don't have terrible protagonists
- Don't be 5 hours long
- Don't use fuck like a comma
- Don't force the player to babysit terrible squadmates

I do hope they take a crack at multiplayer though. One dude is the target and his team needs to protect him without all turning on each other. The other team is either just 47 or a small crew of hitmen trying to take out the target without being made. That could be a sick multiplayer mode that builds off what they did in Kane and Lynch 2.

A frickin' level pack for Blood Money would already be an insta-buy for me.

So as long as they actually do some new things with this, it's going to be completely awesome.

Everyone knows the AI was shitty, and it was never a graphical power house. The games are so damn fun because of how many different ways you can beat the levels. I seriously must have replayed the levels in blood money about 20 or more times each solving them in different ways.

Interested.  Now lets see some gameplay.

Oh yes please no, those were horrendous.

Best news I've seen all day. Still play Blood Money, game is brilliant.

Has it really been nearly five years since Blood Money? It's about time!

Snakes and guns.

You'll probably murder some dudes, and put on different suits.

OMG YES.

Loved the first 3 games and have them all on PS2.

Ive no idea how they play out on 360 though.

Sure every one knows, but i find it extremely lazy that they haven't fixed that issue through out the entire series. Fair enough you enjoy shitty AI, i can't fault you for that if thats your thing.

I'm merely pointing out the series haven't seen any major upgrades through out 4 games. Graphics has change with time of course, but core gameplay, awkward controls and movement plus the AI has pretty much stayed in tact.

Coming from Denmark and seeing a developer from here, that keeps churning out a series like Hitman without improving vastly on it through out all these years, is very disappointing to me.

Of course i have no clue how Hitman 5, looks or plays yet, but i would be surprised if they actually made any big leaps.

Damn. That snake has a gun yo, he might just mess some fuckers up.

@pornstorestiffi: Every complaint you have about hitman is justified. They really should have been able to improve on the series more, especially over the course of the 4 games. I just always found joy in every game despite the flaws each had.

Totally respect that dude. I have found numerous flawed games fun my self.

I haven't played any of the previous games... which one is the best?

#34 Posted by HitmanAgent47 (8576 posts) -
@phrosnite: blood money imo.
#35 Posted by Origina1Penguin (3504 posts) -

YES! I hope that was a preview of the game's soundtrack will be like, because it sounded sick. I'm assuming Jesper Kyd is still on board too.

I contributed a bunch of ideas on the hitman forums years ago. There were some other really good ones from others too. Hopefully IO has made some positive changes for the series, while keeping its core concept fun.
#36 Posted by EliminatoR (237 posts) -

finally.

#37 Posted by Moth_Pope (457 posts) -

Hopefully there's no Kane and Lynch or Splinter Cell style "stealth" getting into the series... I want to go back to learning AI routines and waiting it out properly. :D Blood Money's one of my favourite 360 games.

#38 Posted by cyraxible (696 posts) -
@phrosnite: Gotta agree with HitmanAgent47, Blood Money is definitely the best, this is a series that has only gotten better as time goes on.
#39 Posted by Agent47 (1901 posts) -
@The_Joker: You know that could be something....but it shouldn't be in Hitman.Save the "cool concepts for multiplayer failed horribly by being in a shitty game" for Kane and Lynch.Focusing on multiplayer would detract from the true Hitman experience.Would probably mean they would leave some stuff out that they wanted to put in the story but couldn't too.
#40 Posted by The_Joker (242 posts) -
@Agent47: I have but one word for you. Brotherhood.
#41 Posted by Agent47 (1901 posts) -
@The_Joker:Because Assassins's Creed could actually work Hitman on the other hand won't.
