Will anyone be picking this up?

Is anyone at all interested in getting the Hitman HD trilogy? I already own all three games included and so purchasing this would be redundant. I really wish they would have included a console port of Codename 47. Then I might have been interested in picking this up.

I own the collection on steam (which I think doesn't include contracts), but I think I'll get this one, if only so I can play with a controller.

I also think a demo of Contracts was the first bit of any Hitman game I played, and man, I played that demo a lot.

I'm picking it up. Never played a Hitman game before.

Does anyone know if the artbook comes with all new copies or just the special edition? If it does come with the artbook then that along with the packaging has me somewhat interested. Playing it on PS3 would certainly give me more save space and (hopefully) better loading times than the PS2 versions.

That boxart/artbook look fucking awesome. I might end up picking it up. Love Blood Money but never owned it, and haven't played the others.

That is some slick box art.

I think I'll get this, seems like a great collection to wash away the taste of terrible gameplay Hitman: Absolution left behind ;)

I'm interested in what enhancements (if any) they added to Blood Money, as that is a current generation game.

#8 Posted by awesomeusername (4154 posts) -

Hell no. I'll borrow it from one of my friends if they get it.

#9 Posted by FoxMulder (1633 posts) -

I will. Been meaning to re-play all these games, but original Xbox games look like total shit on HD TVs. But as this is coming out I'll get this instead!

Fucking yes. I lost my copy of Contracts and I've always wanted to play through it again, especially the Hotel mission.

Same here! I had watched a mate play some Silent Assassin, but he mostly run n gunned the thing a lot and the Contracts demo on the PS2 was my first experience with the Hitman series. It was an entire mission as well, the one based in Russia iirc, so it gave you the perfect opportunity to scope out what this game's all about uncovering all the myriad of ways to complete your objectives.

All I want is Hitman Absolution: Hitman Edition To come out

#13 Posted by Godlyawesomeguy (6386 posts) -

I bought the PC version which is completely unplayable (the first two games, at least) so no, I won't be supporting this.

How d'ya mean? Like, literally unplayable, or you just don't think they've aged all that well?

Literally unplayable. Every time I try to launch either game, it gives me a "failed to find Steam" notice and even though I've scoured the internet for fixes and talked extensively with Steam support, it still does not work.

#16 Posted by Egg0 (169 posts) -

I used Gamefly to play Blood Money, but I never got to finish it. I thought about downloading it from XBL, but they're selling it for $30. I can't find a used copy at my local Gamestop either. So 3 games, including Blood Money for $40 is a hell of a deal, because I'd love to play the first 2 games also.

Oh, that sucks. But you could perhaps see this as you... purchasing the later two instead and you're getting another, working, copy of Silent Assassin as a bonus? :P

BLOOD MONEY SON!

#19 Posted by TooWalrus (13137 posts) -

I've never really had any interest in the Hitman games... At the moment, if I was going to pick up an HD re-release, it'd be Okami. After that? Silent Hill. Then maybe, I don't know, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.

But not Hitman.

I'd advise anyone to pick this up instead of absolution

Not me, I beat all the Hitman games throughout last year in order before Absolution came out (and then beat Absolution). Judging by the word trilogy, I'm assuming they skip out on Contracts which is a shame. Engine-wise, I think Contracts was the best, despite the fact that half the game was taken right out of the original... I wouldn't mind an HD trilogy if it meant the first on a new engine though. The first really wasn't any good but 2 and Contracts were awesome. I didn't like Blood Money nearly as much as a lot of people seemed to.

Really? I always thought you were super into Absolution.

Contracts is in there.

I hope they quick look this.

When I get around to playing the hitman games in my backlog, I might go for this instead, like I eventually will with the prince of persia games. Mostly for tro-tros.

I expect a lot of death and "Stealth Sucks" from the crew.

Will this be coming to PC?

Do they ever? Besides can't you technically already buy all of the classic Hitman games in HD on the PC anyway?

The weird thing is Patrick apparently loved Blood Money, so... yeah I'd be curious to hear what he has to say about the previous two, which are perhaps a little more strict.

I played the first Hitman in 2000 or something, 1280x1024

it still amuses me they add HD to the end of everything as if it wasn't already possible

#29 Posted by Sackmanjones (4652 posts) -
@Yummylee I was very disappointed with Absolution. I can say that it was still a good game but it wasn't what I wanted out of hitman. Environments were too small and there was simply too much linear pathing that made it feel like a second rate stealth game. The biggest hook of hitman for me is the disguise mechanic and I thought it was not used well in Absolution. Like I said, I still think its a good game but that don't stop it from being disappointing.

So I assume they will be fixing the busted Japan missions in 2, yeah? Hope so.

Either way I'm in on this for certain. My only copy of Blood Money is the PS2 version. SA and Contracts I have for xbox. Will be nice to have them all playable on a single console.

#31 Posted by Vinny_Says (5686 posts) -

Is there any footage of this online? I've played Blood Money but I wouldn't mind getting it just to experience the other 2 games.

Also I feel like Halo Anniversary has ruined HD remakes for me :(

#32 Posted by Fearbeard (824 posts) -

yeah... I never really played Contracts so I'll grab it to play that and replay through 2.

Already have Blood Money so don't care about that.

#33 Posted by GoofyGoober (937 posts) -

Yes

#34 Posted by Daiphyer (1308 posts) -

OF COURSE, SON!

#35 Posted by Ksaw (341 posts) -

I kind a wish they'd just pick a hand full of levels from these games and remake them with the new engine, but I suppose that would require a lot more effort than just "remastering" the old games.

Anyways, yeah I'm totally buying this.

#36 Posted by Svenzon (713 posts) -

I'd love to have that art book, but I'm not sure I want to go back to Hitman. Last time I played Blood Money it just wasn't clicking with me. I have fond memories of playing Hitman 2 with my cousin and something tells me I should just leave those memories alone.

#37 Posted by BillyTheKid (484 posts) -

I have all the games except for the newest one and contracts on PC. I have yet to play all of them but I will not be picking this up unless they really beef out special features, or they look miles better than the original.

#38 Posted by Cold_Wolven (2211 posts) -

Nah only because I already have Blood Money and as much as I liked Hitman 2 back in the day I couldn't play it now.

#39 Posted by _Mattallica (153 posts) -

I'll be picking it up for sure and reviewing it. Just finished Absolution 100% and I'm craving more Hitman so this is perfect for me.

#40 Posted by I_Stay_Puft (3027 posts) -

I own the pc version on steam which I bought relatively cheap. I probably won't buy the console version.

#41 Posted by Cobra_Kai (21 posts) -

Definitely buying this, so many fond memories from those games, and I`m super happy us console tards get an HD update.

- the new hitman is just not the same, too claustophobic and too linear..

#42 Posted by Klei (1768 posts) -

To think I got all the Hitman games as a pre-order bonus when I bought Absolution for like 44$ on steam. To me, this collection is a huge-ass rip-off, but hey, when you only have a console...

#43 Posted by Apparatus_Unearth (3105 posts) -

Looks pretty cool, I never finished any of them so yeah I'll probably get it.

#44 Edited by Glottery (1109 posts) -

If one can judge anything from the trailer, those HD graphics will probably be a bit rough for your eyes in Silent Assassin and Contracts at least. But as long as they aren't complete garbage and the framerate holds up, I'd be pleased enough. Not that I'm going to buy this again, since I have them pc-versions, but for any new players, I definetly recommend this, if everything turns out fine technical-wise.

#45 Posted by Coafi (1481 posts) -

Unboxing video of the limited edition. It's neat that little book has the discs attached at the end there.

In six months when there is nothing to play mid-summer and this is cheap as shit? Yeah, sure.

Same here. I love how dark that game is and I would argue that Contracts has the best soundtrack.

#50 Posted by Humanity (8814 posts) -

As much as I like Hitman I think I've moved on and don't really feel like replaying any of the earlier games especially since I played a lot of each one at time of release. I do like artbooks and that sort of nonsense but not going to spend $60 for an artbook, especially since a lot of them are hit or miss.
