Holy shit I have to try that
And of course, someone immediately got Silent Assassin.
Eagerly anticipating the youtube videos of people executing this mess with flawless precision.
Just saw that this was mentioned at the top of the hitman twitter today. hahaha I wonder if Vinny knows? I retweeted at him but I tweet like once a year
That's awesome. The HITMAN twitter feed seems pretty aware of the GB greatness. They had already noted the game's selection as GB GOTY, and this may be a grateful nod. 47 is watching.
@renegadedoppelganger: It speaks to the difficulty of that challenge that it took 31 minutes for that person to pull it off. The shit that I've seen people do in Hitman (e.g. SA-SO in under two minutes) makes me think they went through an Agent 47-style program to create the greatest Hitman players of all time.
This is awesome! A testament to just how entertaining Vinny can make some games, by doing his thing.
The most silent of assassinations is not to be found in any of my attempts. Have a few false starts in there. The "good" attempt starts around 16:30.
Hopefully everyone at GB that attempted this is able to post videos. I'd love to see how different approaches work. Or, you know, anything that's better than my plan of action...which should be everything. :)
@cooljammer00: It specifically says thrown.
@john-luke: it's in the christmas videos. Hitmas I think it was called
Can anyone link Vinny's playthrough that inspired this?
@ollieg_94: Jeez. Its like that guy is playing a completely different game than I am.
I tried SA on this last night. My mistake was going after the Helmut costume first. I patiently and methodically took out the guards by his phone call area, then Helmut himself, successfully. Then I grabbed the kitchen knife, went up to the auction, killed Margolis in similar fashion, and was halfway home with SA intact. However, there was a problem. The sheikh was just hanging out in the auction now. Okay, I'll disrupt the auction. I did, and nothing. Threw a coin at him. Nothing. Sheikh was WAY into his iPad. Okay, fine. I decided I'll have to lose SA here. I subdued the guard outside, then threw a screwdriver at the sheikh. Everyone freaked out, and the guards bagged and dragged him down to the second floor. Now I was Sheikh Zanzibar, just wanting to complete the contract and bail. I tried ambushing Novikov very visibly with a quick axe-grab n' throw in the fashion show room, but his meddling guard barely stepped in front of my axe-throw and it targeted him instead. I tried to quickly grab it off his corpse and kill Novikov with it, and did, seconds before getting shot by guards. Failure.
Did my hot 1-star runthrough of this last night.
Immediately dashed up the main stairs into Zanzibar's room bathroom, everyone freaked out, vault out bathroom window, everyone chills, turn on sink and open door, take out and become Zanzibar, take out guards that walk the path to Helmet and store them in the box nearby, take out and become Helmet, take out the two chefs or whatever they are and store them in the closet, poison the sushi, grab knife, take out the bodyguard, flood Dalia's bathroom, take out room guard, luck out and have Dalia be further ahead of her assistant, toss a knife in her head, book it out the bathroom window and get to the shed by the spot you take out Helmet, take out the two remaining security guards by luring em into the shed and storing em in the box, use guard disguise to grab axe and fireworks trigger, drop axe around where Vinny's knife landed after he chucked it from the roof (but on the back patio-thing instead of beside it), take out sitting guard, change to Zanzibar, trigger fireworks, axe to Novikov, mad dash because someone saw me and oh god I'm in combat, take one of the security disguises from the shed, escape in helicopter.
Had a surprising amount of Vinny knife tosses. Just completely whiffed it right over her head, knocked her out, hid from the guards doing their sweep and then whiffed AGAIN when they woke her up. Also one time I was taking out the chefs and Novikov walked in. Whoops! Worth noting I guess that when I say take out I mean incapacitate. Probably not the most effective plan overall, but hey, you know.
So, can someone explain this to me? I don't play Hitman, and while I enjoy watching videos of it the site, I don't recall watching much of Hitsmas.

In the Hitsmas video, each person had to draw from a hat two things: which disguise they had to use to kill each target, and the weapon they had to use to kill each target. Vinny's pulls were to kill target #1 with a knife while dressed as Helmut, and to kill target #2 with a fire axe while dressed as the Sheikh. (They also drew a complication/bonus thing, like "set off an explosion on the runway".)
Hitman lets the community create and submit challenges in a similar format, so several people submitted Vinny's complications and it was chosen as a community featured contract.
Weird, I made this for PS4 and someone else made it for PC, and I know there's a few more out there that were made but the credit goes to "Community".
And they didn't include you having to blow someone up on the runway...
Oh well. Cool that it got the featured slot.
This seems like a weird thing to complain about because surely Giant Bomb was the actual creator of this specific challenge. It would actually seem odd to credit an individual user in this instance.
@ollieg_94: Wowowow
Can anyone link Vinny's playthrough that inspired this?
till this day I don't understand how he made it so far and why everyone blanks on how the game works
