    Overview

HK-47 is a hunter killer class droid, originally belonging to the Sith Lord, Darth Revan. HK-47 originally ran assassination missions for Darth Revan. With his memory erased, HK-47 is sold off to the main character of KOTOR, who is, coincidentally, a brainwashed Darth Revan. Since he was built for a Sith Lord, he hates all living things and often frequently suggests murder as a solution to the party's problems. In KOTOR 2, HK-47 can be found disassembled in a room of the Ebon Hawk, the space ship used to travel the universe in both games. He can join your party again if you collect replacement parts and fix him up. HK-47 survived for thousands of years when his personality was transferred to a ship's computer. When the ship crashed he found a new body and amassed an army of droids to kill all humans on the planet of Mustafar. Though his army was defeated, HK-47 escaped, giving the humans a hologram of himself engraved with the word "meatbags" his usual way of referring to humans.

Interesting note about the term meatbag - It was hardcoded into HK by Revan, who found the term humorous, and also because it annoyed Revan's Apprentice - Malak (the original meatbag). HK-47 is voiced by Kristoffer Tabori in both the games.

    Etymology

HK-47 stands for Hunter-Killer robot in the Star Wars universe but the name's origin can be traced back to two real, well known guns - the Heckler & Koch (HK) and the AK-47.

    The Old Republic

     Silence Meatbags.
    Silence Meatbags.

During an official released video for the many operations in Star Wars: The Old Republic there is a focus on the secrets of Darth Revan. It shows a group of four Empire players that are tasked to force their way into Revan's hidden complex to discover his secrets. After the content in the video is over and the title card plays the screen fades to black, shortly after HK-47 appears and says "Interjection: Silence Meatbags." and raises his gun to the player characters. This had lead fans to believe that HK will appear in The Old Republic as boss character for the operation title "Mysteries Of The Old Republic".

    Memorable Quotes

    - I am quite eager to participate in some unadulterated violence

    -

Player HK PlayerHKPlayer: What are the regulations for?

: Can you help me out here HK?

: I'm 98% percent sure this miniature organic meatbag wants you to help find his fellow miniature organic meatbags.

: And the other 2 percent?

: The other 2 percent is that he is just looking for trouble and needs to be blasted, but that might be wishful thinking on my part.

    - As you say Master. Would you prefer me to call you something else? Perhaps liquidous fleshbag?

    -

HK: Oh, to distinguish the difference between Killer and Killee.

    Player: Killee isn't a word...

HK: Mercenary: There's something out there... it got the other submersible already.

Expletive: Damn it master! I'm an assassin droid, not a dictionary.

    - You are a very harsh master, master. I like you.

    -

HK: Suggestion: Perhaps we could dismember the organic? It would make it easier for transport to the surface.

Mercenary: Hey! Y-you... you can't rip me to pieces! I'll die!

HK:HK impersonating Bastila : Definition: 'Love' is making a shot to the knees of a target 120 kilometers away using an Aratech sniper rifle with a tri-light scope. Statement: This definition, I am told, is subject to interpretation. Obviously, love is a matter of odds. Not many meatbags could make such a shot, and fewer would derive love from it. Yet for me, love is knowing your target, putting them in your targeting reticle, and together, achieving a singular purpose, against statistically long odds.

Amendment: I did forget that. Stupid, frail, non-compartmentalized meatbags!

    -

Mockery: Oh, Master, I love you, but I hate all you stand for! But I think we should go press our slimy, mucus-covered lips together in the cargo hold!
