    Homefront

Game » consists of 12 releases. Released Mar 15, 2011

By the year 2027, the North Koreans have managed to unify Korea, annex Japan, and also invade the western half of the United States. As an American rebel fighter, it is the player's duty to help push the NPA out of the United States and end the citizens' suffering.

According to the LA Times, the filmmakers have decided to change the villains yet again. Instead of the Chinese,  North Korean soldiers will now invade the U.S. in the Red Dawn remake. The switch was made in an effort to give the film greater box office appeal in China – which has become one of the most profitable markets for American movies.

So with the help of the films screenwriter Homefront basically is a Red Dawn inspired video game but now the films remake is possibly inspired by the game?  Or is it: "Red Dawn The Game: The Movie?"

Who knows. Maybe Homefront 2 will be Homefront: Red Dawn.

So it is going to be super short, have a lack luster theater going experience and have an omnipresent advertising campaign?

The headlines should be "NEWSFLASH: Filmmakers are still pussies"

Way to make your movie even less exciting, you might as well just fill the scenes with CGI dragons if you're going to make it pure fantasy...

This is the thing that bothers me about people's reaction to Homefront's fiction, it takes place in 2027 after some real bad shit has happened to the US, if they do it in the movie then it won't seem so unrealistic, not really looking forward to it though, and I still haven't played Homefront

You're combining both American patriots and people who play video games so the response is akin to a petri dish of shit overflowing.

Do both of you guys have trouble with reading comprehension?

No one's talking about Homefront being retarded. Homefront set it up fine for what is.

We're talking about the Red Dawn Remake which has nothing to do with Homefront, except for coincidences and some legacy things.

What the producers are doing is just digitally editing the Chinese symbols out for North Korean ones. The movie's fucking done guys, it's in the can. They are just editing it.

So unless the film also takes place a few decades in the future which they haven't said or mentioned then it's going to be a fucking joke.

Cause you can make a movie about China getting mad in a year or two and sending in troops to invade the US, that's not out of the realm of possibility. So if that's the plot they went for and just edited out the symbols for the North Korean ones then it's going to be a shit show...

Again we aren't talking about Homefront....we're talking about the Red Dawn remake.

Man something about the internet and people who can't read...you get a response akin to a petri dish of shit overflowing....

@Doctorchimp:  I wonder if they'll even bother to overdub the Chinese dialogue with Korean.

Why does Hollywood insist on remaking films that weren't good to begin with?

Technically, they already have.  The film has been done for a year, but MGM didn't really have the money to promote and release it.  Now they're editing the movie to change the villainous invaders after the fact.
