    Homefront

Game » consists of 12 releases. Released Mar 15, 2011

By the year 2027, the North Koreans have managed to unify Korea, annex Japan, and also invade the western half of the United States. As an American rebel fighter, it is the player's duty to help push the NPA out of the United States and end the citizens' suffering.

    What were they thinking?!!!

Homefront was released on March 15th and ever since playing it I have been begging the question: Where the fuck did good shooters go?

Apart from an abysmally bland campaign consisting of a depressingly ugly array of characters and weapons, the multiplayer failed harder than any other game I've seen. It seems like games these days are simply concerned about who can blow up enough shit to get the player's attention, and that is YOUR fault, you demented, slow, retarded, adolescent, morons who keep throwing money into a genre that is about as much fun as sticking all your week's pay check in a fucking blender. The gamers as well as the games are getting dumber by the minute, oh hell getting fucking retarded by the second sounds better.
There's a lot of things I wanted to like Homefront for, such as the setting. Being set in war torn and now occupied America, the game had promise, it even had a semi decent story going for it, until it became just rediculous. The characters are boring, stupid, and have absolutely no personality while your character is a silent fucktard who can't summon up the courage to even say: Oh shit this is a terrible game.
The gameplay of Homefront is truely it's core flaw. The controls are smooth surprisingly, though the weapons handle like shit, most of them have next to no kick and they sound like they're being fired in the padded cell where the developers escaped from. The levels are a mess of chest high walls and muddled disgusting textures, environment should have been the awe inspiring thing here, but it sadly wasnt. While the scenes try to be gritty (Even at one point making you hide in a 'mass grave' (Which wasn't all that massive anyway), it failed to immerse me at every turn. The musical score is literally nauseating, spewing what THQ must have though was depressing and powerful tones, but in the end was just fucking boring like everything else. Nothing about the campaign is noteworthy other than the annoying glitches and horrible voice overs.
The multiplayer was supposedly this game's redeeming point, but I fail to see how in the holy name of fuck it was any good, it was generic, shitty combat that even call of duty could have done better than (And they're almost as fucking bad at it).
So in the end, Homefront fails on all fronts and deserves nothing less than to be left in the 5$ bin at your local Wal-Mart for cold-war fantasists to masturbate to in their off time, or fuck it, check your local trash bin, because that's where my copy went.

Look, it's a Red Dawn video game! And just as bad as the movie! 0

While the title is meant semi-jokingly, anyone who has actually watched Red Dawn will agree that it is not exactly one of the greatest movies ever made. Hell, it has Patrick Swayze in it. In this same vein, Homefront is a game that cannot have a very deep story. The Russians are replaced with the Koreans, but other than that it is pretty much a straight rip-off. The game takes place several years after the occupation of the US, as the "Norks" are moving across the country and slowly ta...

      Lowered Expectations 0

I don't normally purchase games day one, nevermind at full price.  However, I've had my eye on Homefront since I first heard about it - I've really wanted a game to explore the possibility of an invasion of the US.  I still would love to see Heartland be made, and Homefront sounded just up that alley.    What a letdown.  I told myself several times: calm down, this is Kaos, Frontlines was buggy and a similar disappointment, just let it go on sale on Steam.  But I didn't listen, and I was done 6 ...
