    Overview

Hostile artificial intelligence is a common trope in popular culture and in video games. These characters often represent society's discomfort with machines and the fear of technology. Cold logic and disdain for organic life often fuels conflict between human protagonists and machines. Hostile A.I. break into two general categories, those who are attacking the protagonist for the sake of a greater cause, sometimes protecting humans from themselves, and those that were programmed to be actively aggressive.
