@BeachThunder: To be completely honest, it's not my favorite soundtrack of 2012. But it's one of the most evenly-spread soundtracks in 2012, enough so that I feel like there are multiple options for this poll. (Though I'm totally with you that it's Hydrogen.)

I liked Dustforce's soundtrack well enough, but I still preferred Spelunky, Fez, Journey, and Rhythm Heaven Fever to both of those soundtracks, and I preferred FTL, Skullgirls, and P4A as well. Was a damn great year for soundtracks.

How is this even a fair choice, Hyrdogen obviously.

Hydrogen like.... by far. That bass line is simply amazing.

@Indiana_Jenkins: Miami Disco is really great, listening again. I think my runners-up are probably still Silver Lights and Daisuke, though. Silver Lights throws dark.

The M.O.O.N. stuff is just so good, how can you ask me to name just one? sophie's choice here.

Other songs may be better and more complicated, but God DAMMIT when Hydrogen kicks in it works with the psychotic gameplay like no other.

Shit I clicked the wrong Perturbator song I ment to click Miami Disco.

I started with Hyrdogen but then Miami Disco caught my eye.

Crystals is the best song and is also the most featured song, all of the Moon stuff is great though there's some decent random tracks as well ("Last" level music for example)

I think the issue is that a lot of people got turned off by Dustforce's absurd difficulty well before hearing all of its superb soundtrack. The fact that you have to mash the dash button like crazy (even for things as simple as falling) instead of there being a simple Mario/Super Meat Boy run button made that game feel like a chore to play for me. I came away really liking the serenity of Dustforce's graphics and music, while being very frustrated by its controls. If it were a completely different game closer to something like Braid or Limbo, I probably would've liked it a lot more.

Silver Lights is so fitting for this game. It's intense and moody, awesome but horrible, dirty yet enjoyable. As it is one of the first songs you hear, it left quite an impression on me.

I went with the obvious choice and picked Hydrogen, I do like Silver Lights but I wish that bass line was on a different, more up tempo song.

EDIT: I forgot that Inner Animal is sick as fuck.

Hmm, I don't think it would have the same impact. I think as it is, it's good that it stands out on the soundtrack. A lot of the other songs are brilliant and make you feel psychotic in a, I am awesome and I can do this, sort of way. Silver Lights makes you feel psychotic but you feel like a real piece of shit while listening to it, really makes you feel like a serial killer. I can understand why that might not appeal to everyone!

I think it pales in comparison to Nightcall, which it is clearly taking inspiration from.

It's a great song, I just hear that bassline and think it's the beginning of a Hydrogen-esque song or a Wu-Tang track.

Hydrogen wins but Miami ain't far behind.

Motherfucking Daisuke. That song has been my wake-up tune ever since I got it.

that's just plain easy duder, it's Hydrogen. That song gets my feet tappin' no matter where it pops up. Plus, never been too huge a fan of house, but this is the kinda shit I can get behind.

I really like Flatline, nice and mellow.

It's got to be Deep Cover.

It's a real Sophie's Choice but I like Daisuke because it's a nice chill break from the rest of the soundtrack.

Tough pick between Hydrogen and Deep Cover but Deep Cover takes it on account of wetness.

I was beginning to wonder if people even realized there were other songs on the soundtrack that wern't by M.O.O.N. "Daisuke" is by far my favorite track. "Knock Knock" is a close runner up though.

To be fair though, when I think about the game as a whole, my mind always goes to "Hydrogen."

'Hydrogen' is great and all at first blush but it goes nowhere. Now 'Miami' is sensual.

I had to vote for Hydrogen because it's THE song to my mind, Daisuke would be a really close second though.
