Hover: Revolt of Gamers is a game that revolves around a struggle between "Gamers" and the anti-video game authorities. As the player, you are tasked with saving citizens, erasing anti-video game propaganda, and ultimately, dethroning the mayor. The game is centered around quick movements that can propel your character across large distances, and features a scoring system similar to that of the Tony Hawk series. Hover takes place in colorful a futuristic sci-fi world, where the player will be able to take control of a variety of characters including humans, aliens and robots.
Hover was successfully funded on Kickstarter on May 22, 2014 and received $116,398 with an original goal of $38,000. The game was also selected to be on Steam via the Greenlight program.
Hover is currently being developed by an indie French studio named Fusty Game, which paired with Midgar Studio for the game's soundtrack, though the game will also feature new songs from original Jet Set Radio composer and music director Hideki Naganuma. Hover is set to release on PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One, PS4, and Wii U thanks to a hit stretch goal from the successful Kickstarter (which you can find here). It will feature Oculus Rift support on PC.
