Hydro Thunder Hurricane is a downloadable high-speed watercraft racing game for Xbox Live Arcade and Windows 8. It is the long awaited sequel to Hydro Thunder.
I bought this today and my friends and I have had so much fun with this, it was well worth the 1200 points. I love the way the single player is set-up. the unlock system encourages replay (so does the leaderboard sysyem....great implementation in this game) and the multiplayer was lag-free and lots of fun.
It shows its arcade roots; it's intenseas hell but what a great ride. Like others have echoed on here, check out the demo....well worth it.
I totally agree with both of you. The graphics are really good, the tracks that I have played/unlocked are really fun, and multiplayer is completely lag-free (for me at least). I would definitely suggest this to anyone who enjoyed the original arcade game.
@dunderri: The game has a really amazing community at this point. I've gotten a lot of friend requests being up on the leaderboards and now that I have a glitch on the boards (It's saying I used a low level boat to get top times). Everyone I've talked to has been cool, and it's been a lot of fun.
It's fun, but man is it difficult on the hardest difficulty, one mistake and you will have to restart especially the Ring Master stuff is brutal, and I do not like difficult games... they piss me off, and I hate getting mad at something so "stupid" as video games. I'll probably just finish the easy tracks, maybe some online and the delete the game... sadly :(
@JacDG: The game can get quite difficult. For the Ring Master expert events a tip I can give you is to use the brakes (left trigger), the most important thing is to be sure you'll get the ring, no need to rush that much.
