New trailer. Get Excited! Coming out on March 12th. Surprised they've made enough money on these games to localize a third one.

Edit: For some reason it's not embedding the trailer. Oh well.

If it has tons and tons of moe, I'm in. Does it have tons and tons of moe?

If they make the gameplay not suck then maybe.

Not gonna hold my breath though.

I'd love it if more people gave the remotest fuck about this series.

It is absolutely another moe-infused jrpg but it is, at least, self-aware and full of good-natured humor and as likely to mock the genre/game concept/fan service as much as it revels in it. The games have generally been well written, well translated and have had surprisingly good voice acting. They began with good core combat mechanics and have simplified the once insanely deep combo tree while expanding the scope of their battle system which has become a neat modern take on turn-based jrpg combat. While the games are obviously low-budget titles they have typically tried to pack them with content and have released free endgame dlc in addition to the paid offerings.

The reviews of "Victory" seem to agree that the game has become more grind-based, that the boss battles are one-dimensional (which has been true in the past) and that there is less voiced content than the previous installments. To me, these seem like signs of Compile Heart trying to squeeze as much game as possible out of a very limited budget, which probably doesn't bode well for the future of the franchise.

I have more confidence in my cat discovering the cure for cancer than Compile Hearts making a semi-competent game. Cross Edge and the first Neptunia game were more than enough proof that no one at CH has any idea what the fuck they're doing.

On a positive note, the three games that N.I.S. announced a couple of weeks ago all look great.
