    Overview

Image Fight is a vertical shoot 'em up with a sci-fi theme that was released in the Arcade, the NES and the PC Engine. It also saw releases on the Japanese home computers the Sharp X68k and FM Towns. The PC Engine version would later be released on the Wii's Virtual Console in 2007 and the Wii U's Virtual Console in 2015. The Arcade original was later ported for Mac and PC with Irem Arcade Hits.

The player controls the experimental OF-1 craft and must face down the invading aliens that have already destroyed Earth's lunar base. Image Fight's most novel feature is its Option-like Pod. These Pods can either be red or blue, and the red ones will fire in the direction that the player is moving, allowing them to attack enemies at an angle (the blue will always fire upwards).

Image Fight would see a sequel in 1992: Image Fight II: Operation Deepstriker. It was released for the Arcade and the PC Engine CD.
