During a race, a caution period slows the cars down so that workers can attend to cars involved in an accident, or remove debris from the track. This is typically indicated by a yellow flag.
A form of racing designed to test the car and driver's skill and endurance. It evolved into closed circuit racing like modern Formula 1 and MotoGP. Even the Mario Kart series has it.
A lap is one circuit around a race track. This is featured in many, but not all racing games.
A staple of almost any racing game, the pit is the on-track location where players fix their cars, as well as modify their setups to account for changing track conditions.
The wheels are already in motion when you begin the race, there's no turning back.
In auto racing, standing starts have the cars or go-karts stationary in the starting grid as the race begins. To commence racing in a standing start, a set of red lights is needed before the green one goes off to start the race.
Tire wear is when a tire gets worn out and looses grip.
Appeared in many Formula 1 games.
