Cole McGrath, probably the coolest bike courier ever. He stars in Sucker Punch's new game inFAMOUS. While Cole might have a weird day job, he ends up being in one of the best games of '09.

    grrrrrr
    grrrrrr
So the story. Like I said before, you play as Cole. A bike courier who gets a package, his last package! No actually it just destroys the whole city. Leaving Cole in the middle of the chaos. As you leave the site of the blast, you gain electical powers. Like most games right now, this game has a karma system. Basicly you can choose to use your powers for good or evil. I picked good, i can never play as a evil character. When you get out of the hospital, which is shown in a cut scene, you can go around the city. Lets just say people hate you. They scream at you, spit on you, shove you its madness. Soon after you get a phone call from a girl named Moya. She uses you, she makes you turn on all the power and do things for her or else she'll have the place leveled.

The city is split into 3 islands, Neon District, Warren District, and Historical District. Each place has a different set of enemies. Neon you have the Reapers, they were a street gang but after the blast became more powerful. Warren you have the Dustmen, they are basicly homeless people with guns. Historical you have Kesslers army. Kessler is the villian in this game.

You later find out that the Ray Sphere is the cause of all of this. You spend pretty much the rest of the game looking for it.
cut scenes look like comic books. but with a nice 3D effect. nice

To sum of the story a little bit. Shit goes down, and there are a ton of plot twist. The endings twist is done so well. I just wanna see how they will continue the story in later games.

One thing i have a problem with was the repetitive missions. You have go in the sewers like ten times, but the upside to that is you get powers. The earlier missions yes arent repetitive and kinda vary a little. Its later in the game where run into the same crap over and over again. It seems like I was always protecting something or someone. First couple of times it was exciting, but after the sixth time it got boring. Side quest at first were fun, but also fall to the repetitive game. Your often shooting cameras, while you are also getting shot at. Or getting medicine back or blah blah. If it wasnt for how much i enjoyed playing the game, I might have given this game 3 stars.

Crappy missions aside, the game does have a good amount of strong points. The game looks great. There are a crap load of pop ins, but the art style got me. The grayness of the game, how it all changes its sunny out. Though explotions are a tad dull. Character models a bit on the uneven side. They are good at times, but everyone besides Cole seem to walk really oddly. Climbing is a blast. It makes traveling around the city easy. When you get more powers and are able to grind, thats when things really get fast and fun. Sucker Punch got the controls perfectly. Even for me, im not the best shooter in games, but i was head shooting people and taking them down with ease. Its really the high point of the game. Voice acting is very good. Cole sounds bad ass, and Kessler sounds like what a villian should sound like.

like i said, this game looks good.

The game has a fast pace. I did some side stuff not all of them. I wanted to beat the story first. I beat the game in three days. Fastest i have ever beat a game. If you do what I did, it might take you 15-20 hours to beat the game. Its go from point A to point B and maybe kill some guys on the way.

So overall, its a fantastic game. Its flawed, very flawed but the story is fantastic. It has some great plot twists that actually work. One of the best endings in a game I think. I have not enjoyed a game this much since Fallout 3. I highly recommend it.

"Do I want them to love me...or fear me?" That quote and title up there represents a lot about what makes inFAMOUS, well inFAMOUS. It is an open world sandbox game by Sucker Punch Productions. Does that ring any bells? Hopefully you do recall something, as those guys at Sucker Punch developed the Sly Cooper games back on the PS2. So there is a bit of a pedigree going into this title. inFAMOUS is the story of Cole McGrath, an ordinary joe who works as a bike messenger. One day he finds himself de...
