I'm having quite some trouble to rake up the 16000 needed for the battleship class ship that you can eventually buy in chapter 3 and you probably need 2 off to be able to destroy the area's biggest encounter with the Nomorod pirates. The random encounter fights only get you around 220-360 and it does not appear that any of the taverns are giving out jobs for some reasons. Going from space port to space port with a ship filled with cargo holds is also not all that effective since it take about 3 minutes to get only 200 with my biggest ship filled with cargo holds. I'm almost under the impression that I'm missing a very important game-play mechanic here.
