Infinite spawns are commonly found in many first person shooters, as well as other types of games. They often prove to be frustrating to gamers for a number of reasons: 

  1. On harder difficulties, endless waves of enemies can be extremely difficult to get through.
  2. You are often forced to press forward until you reach an invisible barrier you can't even see, thus ending the onslaught.
  3. Occasionally, you have goals to complete within an area that enemies continually pour into, adding to the stress.
