Overview
Infinium Strike is a tactical tower defense game in which players take the role of weapons officer aboard the massive spacecraft, Freedom Strike, taking the fight straight to the Wrog. As the chief weapons officer, players must defend Freedom Strike from the Wrog attacking in four quadrants, each containing three sectors. The game features a 10-mission campaign with three difficulty levels, as well as an endless arcade mode that tasks the player with surviving as long as possible.
Gameplay
While playing Infinium Strike, there are various methods the player can utilize to fight off the Wrog:
Turrets
Placing turrets along the turret pads of each quadrant on Freedom Strike is the most common method of defending against the Wrog swarm. There are currently eight turrets that players have at their disposal:
Pulse - Rapid-fire laser turrets that target fast-moving fighter class ships for short-range attacks in Sector 1 (Stingers & Lashers). Only targets ships in Sector 1.
Heavy Pulse - Basic laser turrets that target larger, cruiser class ships for medium range attacks in Sector 2 (Berthas, Domicides, and Reapers). Only targets ships in Sector 2.
Super Pulse - Slow, powerful laser turret that targets massive battleships for long-range attacks in Sector 3 (Domineers & Bubbas).
K-Missle - Standard anti-projectile turret for incoming missiles (Penetrator, Shiv, Spikey, and Evaporator Ball). Cannot protect against Bertha Shot or EMP. Only targets projectiles in Sectors 1 and 2.
Advanced K-Missle - Strong anti-projectile turret with superior payloads to defend against missles in Sectors 1, 2, and 3 (Penetrator, Shiv, Spikey, and Evaporator Ball).
Long Range Rail Gun - High-energy radioactive mortar shot that triggers a nuclear explosion upon impact. Only targets battleship-class Wrog ships (Domicides and Bubbas).
Regression Cannon - Fires a quadrant-wide rift that devolves Wrog ships to lower levels of power. All ships in targeted quadrant are affected.
Warp Turret - Instantly teleports Wrog ships in sectors 1 and 2 away from their effective combat range, keeping them out of the fight.
Every turret placed can be upgraded up to Level 5 by using infinium, which is automatically salvaged from destroyed Wrog ships. Each turret can also be sold to regain some infinium if needed, the amount based on the current upgrade level.
TSF Fleet
Players can also deploy smaller ships from the TSF Fleet that will head straight into the battle. The fleet is deployed using “Fleet Points” that regenerate at the rate of 1 point per second. There are three ships within the TSF Fleet that the player can deploy:
Star Ace - Small, agile ships that quickly and relentlessly attack fighter-class and cruiser-class Wrog ships with their rapid-fire lasers. These ships cost the least amount of infinium of the three TSF Fleet ships and last 30-60 seconds (depending on level). These fighters only target ships in sectors 1 and 2.
Star Void - Interceptor vessel that uses the same technology as the K-Missile turret to destroy Wrog projectiles mid-flight. A well-timed Star Void can turn the tide of the battle. Lasts 35-60 seconds (depending on level).
Star Avenger - Equipped with an antimatter cannon that deals massive damage, its main purpose is to destroy the heavily armored Wrog cruisers and battleships. Lasts 30-60 seconds (depending on level).
The TSF Fleet system can be upgraded using fleet points. Upgrading the Fleet System reduces the cost of TSF Fleet Ships while increasing their damage output and lifespan.
TSF SuperTech
There are six SuperTech abilities that Freedom Strike has available, most of which unlock as Freedom Strike is upgraded :
Decoy Satellite - Lures attackers in all sectors to a specified section within a single quadrant, and absorbs an infinite amount of damage for 30 seconds. 90 second cooldown.
Sentry Satellite - Deploys a stationary satellite that fires multiple laser shots within the selected sector. 90 second cooldown.
Super Salvage - Doubles the rate of infinium gathered from Wrog salvage for a short time. 90 second cooldown.
Super Shield - Immediately repairs shields to 100%. 90 second cooldown.
Shield Shot - Diverts 30% of the current shield power to a giant ball of energy that creates a massive explosion within all three sectors of the selected quadrant. 90 second cooldown.
Super Armor - Immediately recharges shields to 100% and repairs armor up to 50%. Requires 1000 Star Credits per use, 120 second cooldown.
Freedom Strike Upgrades
Freedom Strike itself can also be upgraded up to level 5 each mission. Every level improves the armor, max shields, and shield regeneration rate of Freedom Strike. Upgrading Freedom Strike also unlocks SuperTech abilities, more advanced turrets, and powers unused Turret Pads for placement. Finally, upgrading Freedom Strike instantly repairs current shield and armor to 100%.
The Wrog
Currently, there are seven types of Wrog ships that attack Freedom Strike:
Stinger - These small ships attack in large swarms, armed with lasers that fire small, focused bursts.
Lasher - A quick, agile fighter whose EMP shot can render a turret useless for a significant amount of time. The EMP shot is more easily blocked when Freedom Strike’s shields are high.
Bertha - A medium sized “tank” which damages Freedom Strike’s shields. The “Bertha Shot” is unable to be targeted by K-missle turrets.
Domicide - A cruiser class attack ship that deploys the deadly Shiv, which has a 50% chance to completely bypass Freedom Strike’s shields and do all it’s damage to Freedom Strike’s armor..
Reaper - A cruiser class attack ship that can be found in all three sectors of a quadrant. Fires the Evaporator Ball, which can instantly destroy a turret.
Bubba - A huge, tadpole-like creature fitted with an unusual helmet. Hurls a toxic blob which decimates Freedom Strike’s shields.
Domineer - A massive battleship armed with two weapons, the Penetrator and the Spikey. The Penetrator damage is spread 75% Freedom Strike’s shields and 25% to Freedom Strike’s armor. The Spikey is a slow moving, heavily armored projectile that explodes upon impact, dealing massive damage to shields.
