What the hell happened to iNiS?

#1 Edited by LordXavierBritish (6259 posts) - 1 year, 1 month ago

Seriously, what the fuck happened?

I was willing to still believe that iNiS had a life after Lips, but I had no fucking idea they were responsible for The Black Eyed Peas Experience.

On top of that the only thing they seem to be working on is some dumb Anrdoid game called Eden to GREEEN that is cribbing more than a little from Plants vs Zombies.

iNiS WHAT HAPPENED MAN.

What happened to the good old days when you made some of the greatest rhythm games of all time?

What happened to Gitaroo Man, and Ouendan, and Elite Beat Agents?

We still love you iNiS, please come home.

I hate to say it, but neither Ouendan or Gitaroo Man sold very well. Lips ended up being a pretty solid success internationally. They probably went where the money was.

I created a page for Eden to GREEEEN.. Sorry.

Some dumb Android game.

It is being developed by iNiS for Tegra devices.

That is a great article; thanks for taking the time to impart your wisdom.

Now the blurb calls it a "tower offense" game, which is more neutral but still a totally stupid term. Better?

People need a reason to hate, and buying these games would have conflicted with that.

Yes, thank you!

By the way, how was the PSP version of Gitaroo Man? Ryan Davis from 2006 enjoyed it, but have any of you played it more recently?

It's probably the better version of the two games, they added more content and it plays just as well as it ever did.

For a portable version of Gitaroo Man it's exactly what you'd want.

I blame the slackers that didn't buy Ouendan or EBA and bought plastic instrument crap instead.

Thanks for nearly killing the rhythm genre, you fucking clowns!

Cool. Thanks for the information! I am divided between getting a PSP or a Vita and access to this game definitely makes the former more attractive.

Good times. Here's hoping they'll make an Elite Beat Agents sequel on Wii U or 3DS?

Turns out that really bizarre, highly Ouendan-inspired iOS game from E3, Demons' Score, is actually from iNiS! So they're finally back to story-based, oddball, music-matching gameplay! It doesn't look to have the heart of GitarooMan or Ouendan (from the very little I've seen so far) but it still looks like fun and WAY better than karaoke stuff.
