Recent Gamestop poster leak reveals that its a real thing now. Basically only thing not confirmed is Ed Boon saying so. Can't freaking wait for this.

Well I'm glad the art style appears a bit different. The art style and the story of Injustice both were very lacking to me and that killed the game for me.

meh...I wasn't impressed with the game very much.

Wonder if they'll even bother with a PC version this time around.

They have to keep trying right? At some point Warner Bros. will get their shit together.

Injustice is my go to Netherrealm game. While I enjoy the MK games I always gave up on them after a week or two. I couldn't put down Injustice for months.

The only question left is, will Hawkman be in it?

Yeah I played Injustice for quite awhile. I do wish WB would give them another six months though, you can tell the they've been on a tight schedule the last couple of games.

It's gonna animate like butt.

NRS will tank their competitive scene via frequent ill-conceived balance patches and poorly thought-out DLC characters.

SonicFox will win everything.

Loved Injustice. Felt Mortal Kombat X was, if not a half-step backward, a lateral move. Can't wait to see more.

My nephews will be stoked. Every time they come by, all they wanna do is Injustice and Rocket League.

I didn't want anything to do with the first game. Bought it when I found it on sale for crazy cheap (would lose money if I didn't!) and was pleasantly surprised.

Most fun I had with a fighting game among my group of friends.

It was inevitable, but I'm pretty excited for this. The injustice story-line is pretty great.

That trident throw would have actually killed Batman.

Whats up with the layers upon layers of armor thats growing on everyone? Only thing about the trailer that I didn't like. Seemed appropriate for batman but looked out of place on everyone else. Can't wait for this game. Loved the story mode in the first one and casually played the 1v1 for a little bit. Really looking forward to seeing what characters they add in.

So is every DC hero Iron Man now?

I need to go back and play 1. I have a digital copy on PS4 I should redownload and give it a shot.

Half of the things in that trailer should have killed someone (or at least, put them out of commission), like being pounded to the ground by an angry Superman.

@darkvare: yeah I just rewatched it on my work computer (watched it the first time on my phone). It's definitely Batman. The helmet + chest logo made me think of Arkham Knight but it could also be a Batman Beyond type armor.

@l1ghtn1n: I really hope this is a 2016 game but I believe NetherRealms doesn't usually release during the holidays. Also Justice League part 1 isn't scheduled until November next year so I doubt they'd wait that long.

@zirilius: the shot of Batman at 1:53 in the trailer above with the red bat logo and the helmet made me think it was Todd but the shot of them all running at each other shows Batman with that helmet

Nah. There's still a competitive community around it, but the game's lifespan is mostly over. The most recent DLC characters drove the final nail into the coffin, but the writing had been on the wall for a while.

Injustice's cast offered a more diverse set of playstyles, even if some of the characters were a bit unbalanced. Mortal Kombat X is probably the better-balanced of the two but achieves that by minimizing the sheer number of strategies players have to utilize.

Eh. They're all hopped up on Kryptonite Smack anyway.

@hermes: Because it looks freaking awesome and also a real thing. The picture below is Kryptonian Warsuit and while I don't remember the details on it I do think its similar to the stuff Zod and the other battle Kryptonians wore.

Straight up loot in a fighter does sound like a cool thing I've been wanting to happen.

After hearing Jeff talk about it on his Mixlr my faith in this game and how it's planning to make money has taken a severe blow. I hope it turns out to be false but if they are really going to be selling gameplay-impacting microtransaction stuff you can probably count me out.

I think Overwatch did the best thing possible by making all loot cosmetic only. I don't think the same will happen here.

Considering the shitty way they handled Microtransactions in MKX I'm skeptical as well. I think the premise sounds awesome and the execution even harder. If they pull it off though that would be amazing. My hope would be loot is in-game currency/obtainable only and microtransactions for cosmetic effects.

The idea of a loot system sets off alarm bells, although it'll probably be totally inapplicable to competitive play anyways.

I completely agree. For all the risks, there also exist massive upsides. This could effectively be the Diablo or the Destiny of the fighting game genre.

WB does have an awful record with microtransactions but I'll wait until we have more concrete details before worrying about it. I'll assume they know enough to have a competitive mode that leaves that stuff out.

I was fairly competitive in Injustice. I really enjoyed it. At some point I think my Harley was top 200 worldwide. So this makes me excited.
