That name sure is horrendous. Is it just me? Just call it DC Super Heroes Rumble or something appropriately goofy. Jesus. What a terrible name.

It's pretty bad.

#3 Posted by laserbolts (5309 posts) -

That is quite the offputting name. I agree.

I think it is fine but it is weird since Injustice League is just the group of villains they fight in the comics with the likes of Lex Luthor, Catwoman, Sinestro, and so on.

Edit: I didnt notice it had a subtitle. It isnt good, but very video gaming

#5 Posted by TheGreatGuero (9130 posts) -

I'd be okay with just Unjustice, I suppose, but the subtitle just takes it to a whole new level of bad.

Sounds like something that Kratos would make if Kratos were a video game developer.

Either that or he would name it AAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!

#7 Posted by ArcLyte (878 posts) -

Its appropriately badass sounding for a netherrealm studios game

#8 Posted by Cirdain (2996 posts) -

So you're a small village peasant who's on an epic quest to drive the Romans out of their land.

#9 Posted by huntad (1930 posts) -

Yeah, it sounds cheesy, but not in a good way.

#10 Posted by BestUsernameEver (4825 posts) -

It's almost as bad as "Jobs: get inspired", the movie about Steve Jobs played by aston kutcher of course,

#11 Posted by theveej (811 posts) -

Shoutld have been either Justice League : Gods Among Us or Justice League : Injustice for all

#12 Posted by KoolAid (821 posts) -

I think the name sounds cool...

#13 Posted by rachelepithet (1326 posts) -

Hate subtitles in first games in blatant trilogies.

#14 Posted by Sbaitso (459 posts) -

Let's start a petition to change it!!!111!!1!

(yeah, it's pretty bad, clearly a marketing team had something to do with this.)

Injustice 2: Heroes Unleashed

Injustice 3: City of Chaos

#16 Posted by joshthebear (2700 posts) -

The whole product, at least to me, seems pretty bad.

#17 Posted by SarjuTheRapper (279 posts) -

i dont mind it. its not "good" but it has a similar appeal to my ridiculousity-radar as the title mortal kombat

#18 Posted by Hunter5024 (5506 posts) -

Ill hold off judgment on the name until I know what the story is actually about. The whole Gods Among Us thing isn't too off putting to me though, because that is a pretty common theme in The Justice League.

#19 Posted by Dany (7887 posts) -

It doesn't bother me. Kinda generic but it makes sense the whose injustice thing.

#20 Posted by chrissedoff (2075 posts) -

I think they should jettison the main title and simply call it "Gods Among Us". That is a cool name.

#21 Posted by Masha2932 (1240 posts) -

I think it's fine but I feel it needs the DC branding somewhere. For example:

1. DC Heroes' Injustice: Gods among us.

2. Injustice: DC's gods among us.

Same here. Besides, judging from the trailer, the whole point seems to be that the 'heroes' aren't being so heroic for whatever reason so I think the name fits.

#23 Posted by BisonHero (6047 posts) -

I want to agree with you, but then I realized that's only because I'm so used to video game titles being branded all to hell, and never having titles that are in any way cryptic or abstract.

I agree that the title is verbose without accomplishing anything by doing so, but I do want to sort of applaud them for somehow getting away with making a licensed game where they weren't forced to include the license directly in the title. Usually you'd expect this sort of game to have "DC" or "Justice League" right in the title, just in case simpletons can't figure out it's a DC fighting game from the prominent pictures of Batman and Superman on the cover.

@DeathbyYeti: I really can't stand the trend of unnecessary video game sub titling. If it were the second entry in the series, I could understand, but this is rarely ever the case. "Injustice" would have been just fine.

#25 Posted by Hailinel (23676 posts) -

Why are so many people convince that it needs the DC branding?

#26 Posted by Hamz (6846 posts) -

I think 'Injustice' would have just been a better name, the subtitle just seems out of place.

Would have been more fitting if they had some sort of Marvel vs DC crossover, then you could sort of see where the "Gods Among Us" bit comes into play.

#27 Posted by Nottle (1912 posts) -

Sounds like the title of a event comic to be honest.

#28 Posted by Phatmac (5720 posts) -

At least it isn't called Shadows of the Damned.

#29 Posted by Sackmanjones (4650 posts) -

The name you gave is worse.... Sorry

#30 Posted by ShadowConqueror (3048 posts) -

Injustice League.

#31 Posted by Ghostiet (5208 posts) -

It definitely sounds like a terrible God of War clone.

Technically, we don't know the plot. The subtitle might make more sense in context.
#33 Posted by TheDudeOfGaming (6078 posts) -

The Injustice part is nice i think.

#34 Posted by damswedon (3173 posts) -

Keeping the DC name off of it is great, even as a comic fan I know that outside of Batman the DC name means shit.

As for the Gods among us part, it plays to the old belief that Marvel's characters are humans with powers while DC's are Gods blessing us with their presence.

#35 Posted by Bestostero (2758 posts) -

Injustice Gods Among Us.

Eh. I'm not fan, but I'm not against it. It's alright.

The 'Gods Among Us' thing would make sense if, like, you were playing some random guy who had to deal with a world full of superheroes and villains or something, but since you're just playing as those 'gods' - the whole game is just two 'gods' beating each other up - it doesn't quite work. Yeah, the plot might explain it more, but it still seems a bit odd.

It sounds like an 80s metal album. So, ya know, it sounds like a game Netherrealm would make.

Shadows of the Damned 2: Darkness Within

#39 Posted by KelpPlankton (51 posts) -

Name sounds classy and confident. It doesn't have to call itself a DC title or Justice League Brawl or anything like that to be good. If anything, it's like what the Batman movies have done lately- you don't need the title to be super blatant. "Injustice: Gods Among Us" is way more memorable than "Justice League: Injustice" or whatever.

#40 Posted by Subjugation (4715 posts) -

I think they should just slash the subtitle and leave it as Injustice.

Yeah, thanks for pointing that out. You can't possibly think that I thought DC Super Heroes Rumble was a good name. The whole point was that even a goofy video game name like that would've been an improvement... ahh forget it.

#42 Edited by darkvare (757 posts) -

it should be named "justice league 2: yes blizzard a sequel to  your  shitty snes game"

#43 Posted by moywar700 (174 posts) -

Nobody has pointed this out yet so I will. The reason why the game has gods among us is because is it referring to the main justice league characters. The justice league are basically greek gods and they are among humans which is us. The title has injustice because there has been injustuce?idk

Heh, yeah, I think we got that. Problem is branding, though. Batman is about to make more money than god, and, yes, that movie is called "The Dark Knight Rises," but the first film was Batman Begins and The Dark Knight is a known pseudonym for Batman. Imagine if it was called "Knight fights masked Terrorist" or "Anthropomorphic Animal Team Up Yeah!" or "More Money for Christopher."

This name is equivalent. It's kinda cute how its playing on those themes, but if you've got the DC roster, and you plan to sell to people who play video games or like comic books rather than, say, philosophers who question the nature of power in society, you need a better name.

#45 Posted by sickVisionz (1268 posts) -

It's just a frickin name. GB gets too caught up on the most irrelevant part of games sometimes.

#46 Posted by Z3RO180 (230 posts) -

The name sounds awesome

#47 Posted by MariachiMacabre (7039 posts) -

I think it probably should have been Injustice with the DC logo in the corner but I still think the game will be good.

#48 Posted by John1912 (1811 posts) -

fI dont know, I enjoy the putting of off, in the name putting of the name of the game. Putting.....

#49 Posted by GERALTITUDE (2857 posts) -

It's a really bad title. "Gods Among Us" would have been better, as pointed out.

#50 Posted by GERALTITUDE (2857 posts) -

@sickVisionz: Nah I think you should talk about every last piece of every game if you've got something to say.
