How do you find cheap replacement cables for iPad/iPhone/Touch?

Amazon has ones selling for as little as 99 cents, but they appear to be not just third party, but potentially not matching Apple's standards (meaning theyll fit the 30-pin dock hole, but the cord will not deliver the right voltage/wattage to charge/sync the device correctly).

Anyone here have experience with buying cables like this?

Ive heard people recommend mono price, but maybe thats due to professional bulk savings. Yes, i found a ten foot HDMI cable for just $5, but it was the only kind (shape, thickness) they had, and shipping would be about $8.50 The reviews of the small selection and hard to find (searching 30pin brought up way wrong results) USB Apple cables said that they are extremely flimsy, the glue and plastic on the 30pin port section breaks off and is hard to squeeze and remove from your iphone without damaging it. Monoprice didnt even seem to have 2.5mm cell phone to 3.5mm headphone cords, just a few adapters. And they do have ridiculously expensive carbon fiber-ish audiphile HDMI cable bullshit, too. Needless to say, I want to explore other options.

Go to a hotel and say that your wife/girlfriend/brother etc or even you left their cable in their room, did they find it? They probably have like..... a dozen lying around. Hey it's an idea.

Ask friends and family members. I have around 4 now just from buying new iPods/accessories over the years. Or you could just buy an accessory, I'm pretty sure the Apple power adapter has a spare cable with it.

I've bought them. They charge and sync just fine, but are very cheap in build quality, and break really easily. They don't last long.
